Tools and Hardware Reviews of 2.8 Watt 60 LED Light Bulb, Warm WhiteCustomer Review: Fantastic... you call yourself "green"... not till you have this Summary: 5 Stars
This replaces a regular light bulb and has a light color temperature comparible to the regular incandesent light bulbs you are used to. Sure they cost a whole lot more but you will probably never buy it again... they last virtially FOREVER!!! The thing burns 5 wats and puts out about 60 watts worth of light in a pattern that fools you into thinking it is a regular bulb... till you get the electric bill that is. My goal: To have my local electric company come to audit my eletric meter for "tampering". I am innocent of that... would like to hear they accuse me of it though... so I could laugh in their face!! Get green and join me won't you?
Customer Review: Brilliant for an L.E.D. Bulb Summary: 5 Stars
This is one of the brightest LED bulbs in it's class. It's very omnidirectional, and great for porch lights! My metered tests show that this bulb uses less power than advertised. I have an old rental house that was empty, and I wanted to leave a porch light on. I didn't have time to replace the fixture, so I just bought this LED and leave it run 24/7. If you have a can fixture you can get more light directionally. I was very pleased. (P.S. It was also really good for lighting up plastic Christmas lawn figures. With the help of this bulb, I had a complete LED Christmas display this year!.)
Customer Review: Good for dim lighting, not for reading or bright illumination Summary: 3 Stars
These bulbs work for an area that requires an amount of light approximately equivalent to a 15W incandescent bulb. They're definately not replacements for bright lighting. I use one for my outdoor light fixture, which provides enough light to let me see the key hole in my door. Another one is used in a part my basement where only a small amount of light is needed. I recommend these LED bulbs to anyone who is just looking for a "bright nightlight" but not if you're trying to read the newspaper. They use less than 3 watts of power, are cool to the touch and should last for years.
Customer Review: False Advertising Summary: 2 Stars
If this were 2 watt bulb I was reviewing I would probably give it five stars.
HOWEVER, the bulb you will recieve in the mail will not only PERFORM much poorer than expected, but THERE IS A LABEL ON THE BULB that says 2.81 watts!
I'm not saying this is a bad product, because what it's well put together and solidly puts out 2.81 watts of yellowish light (a little yellower than incandescent bulbs). Just remember that what you are paying for is NOT a 5 watt bulb as advertised, rather you are paying the price listed above for a 2.8 watt LED bulb.
Customer Review: Energy efficiency Summary: 3 Stars
The light from this bulb is maybe comparable to a 25 watt incandescent. You can't argue with the super energy efficiency of these bulbs, if it was a bit brighter I would have given it 5 stars. I use these to light some family pictures in a dark hallway in my home and they do the job perfectly. I replaced two gas guzzling 50W halogens; these do the job using 90% less energy.
