My only complaint about 3M's duct tape is that it doesn't come in more colors. I've been doing duct tape notebook covers and purses for years and this is my favorite tape. Duck brand comes in more colors but it's thicker and doesn't adhere as well to itself.
This kind is thin and strong. I've got purses I've been using for 10-15 years off and on that are made with it and a notebook cover that I made my husband using it that are still intact and in great shape. It goes over forms well because it's thin enough to not bulk up. It looks like it's more expensive because the rolls aren't very much bigger than the Duck brand but do a comparison by price per foot. Generally speaking, the 3M brand will wind up costing less per foot so you get more coverage for less, and if you're making something like a duct tape skirt, you can make it better fitted and easier to sit in using the 3M brand.
