I purchased these hooks as a last resort to hanging a cubby/coat rack and shelf weighing approx 50-60lbs. I used three of these hooks for each end and a supportive one for the middle. I was blown away. I was determined to hang this shelf on this particular wall drywall nonetheless and my husband said that the wall wasn't strong enough, we would need to find a new location, of course that would have thrown my whole decor off, but low and behold the hercules hooks worked. These hooks really work!! They support the weight and installation is super easy. Only complaint is that they stick out from the wall a little, so it makes it more difficult to hang shelves, etc.Customer Review: One of the greatest inventions for hanging wall items

After reading some bad reviews from a few people I was quite scepticle about these items but decided to give them a go.
I cant speak for plaster, but as far as I know these are meant for dry wall anyways.
I have hung a 30 pound item on one hook which is extremly secure and was so easy to use that I have now vowed never to purchase any of the old fashioned hooks again.
I got a total of 40 hooks (2X20 pack) and have hung 4 items so far.
The hooks are very easy to get through the dry wall and just as easy to remove when needed.
The hole that is left is only that of a small nail and can easily be touched up while retaining your hooks in the same condition as when you put them in.
Over all I give this a 5/5 and would suggest this item to other buyers, I was also shocked at just how strong the metal is, I attemped to cut through one with a wire cutter, but the blades of the cutter just bent around the metal of the hercules hook.

I was skeptical about purchasing this product, but found that it works well for hanging pictures on drywall. Walls with plaster that was a little thicker than drywall took a little more to get through, but still worked. I don't think that I would hang something 150 pounds on it, but it worked great for what I needed.
