Tools and Hardware Reviews of AeroBed Premier Classic with Comfort Zone Coils Queen Bed

Customer Review: Recommended for occasional use
Summary: 4 Stars

I bought this Aerobed because of previous positive experience with a similar model (which now lives at my son's house for our occasional week-long visits) and in spite of a negative experience with the Pillow-top version (the pillow-top doesn't expand as wide as the bottom does on inflation, so it tends to become something of a pillow-tub). Unfortunately, this "Premier Classic" appears to have a slow leak-- it starts out firm and fine, but over night, it becomes softer and bouncier-- when my wife rolls over, I bounce around some, and vice-versa. The other queen-size "Classic" that I have stays firm and non-bouncy all night with no problem. (It is evidently a previous model, because the plug-in air pump is external to the mattress and strapped onto the end.) This newer (?) version has all the pump stuff inside a rigid plastic plate, and requires plug-in power for inflation AND deflation, unlike the other model which deflates all by itself when a valve is opened and the mattress is compressed. I also own a camper version with a rechargeable attached air pump, and it performs quite well-- no leaks so far. I do vastly prefer the internal support structure of Aerobeds over the cheaper competition, and they are much sturdier, so on balance I would buy another.

Customer Review: Aerobed is not for everynight use
Summary: 3 Stars

Never comfortable with a conventional box and springs, and fearful of leaks with a waterbed, we wanted an air bed. We had previously purchased and returned a SleepNumber bed, which has a divider separating the two halves of the bed, so that one sleeper rolls onto the other, and sleeping on top of the divider is rediculous. We had tried cheap air mattresses, which leaked almost from the start. Finally got the Aerobed, and were delighted with it until it started leaking and coming apart after 4 months. We contacted Aerobed, and they said that the Aerobeds are NOT intended for continuous use. But nothing in the advertisements said this, and the price is high enough that we expected better than only being able to use it occasionally. Aerobed sent a replacement under warranty, and despite warnings that it isn't suitable for regular use, we are going to try it again. There just isn't any other game in town.

Customer Review: Better than a conventional mattress!
Summary: 5 Stars

My husband has back problems, and his previous self-adjusting mattress was shot after only 6 years! Late in 2007 we threw that one out, and used another aerobed that we had for guests. We put that on top of his box spring, and added a feather mattress on top of the aerobed. That works well for him. When I saw this newer style aerobed with a recessed motor, we bought it and put the other one back in storage for guests. This one is so much better because of the hidden motor/pump feature. We can now put that end of the mattress against the wall, without any bulky motor or wires showing. I would highly recommend this even as a replacement for a conventional mattress, if one person is sleeping on it. Since it's adjustable, 2 people couldn't find a happy medium with the inflation, but for 1 person this is the way to go for my husband.

Customer Review: Happy with my decision to purchase this aerobed
Summary: 4 Stars

This aerobed was purchased to replace the uncomfortable mattress that was in our motorhome. We'd had an aerobed in the past, so I was confident of the quality and performance. It inflated quickly and completely, but at full inflation was a bit uncomfortable. The bumps on the surface seemed to hit my husband and me right in the middle of the back. He hit the adjust button twice and we were "just right". We did have a pinhole leak in the mattress that deflated a bit during the night, but we found the leak and patched it with the provided patch. The mattress inflates and deflates quickly and the adjust feature is great to customize to your needs. It provides a very comfortable night's sleep. I'd highly recommend this mattress - it's a good product and value.

Customer Review: Aerobed Customer for 7 Years!
Summary: 5 Stars

I have had several versions of the Aerobed since January of 2002. I had a really bad mule riding accident and broke 6 ribs and my back. I was unable to sleep in regular bed for a couple of months so I tried an Aerobed inflated to soft. It worked! It has been my regular everyday mattress since then. I have it on top of a box spring. I have had a couple that leaked no matter what I did but was able to return them without a problem. They are very well made. I even take one with me when I travel. Can't live without it. I know it is supposed to be for occasional use but it stands up to daily use admirably! Highly recommended!
