Tools and Hardware Reviews of AeroBed Sleep Tight Inflatable Bed for KidsCustomer Review: Has Worked Wonderfully for Vacations Summary: 5 Stars
I am extremely happy with this purchase. The bed comes with a bag, a set of fitted sheets, and of course the bed itself with an air-pump. We went to Las Vegas and stayed in 2 different places with our 2 children. This bed was intended for the 3-year old. It sets up in 5 minutes or less, and you can put it away in the same amount of time. The raised area that surrounds the sleeping spot insures that he wouldn't (and didn't) roll out of bed at night. He actually enjoyed knowing that it was "his" bed and he didn't seem to mind sleeping in it one bit -- especially since we brought along all of the normal pillows and blankets from his bed at home to maintain that familiarity from one place to another. When my one-year-old gets old enough to sleep outside of the crib, I will be buying another one of these.
My ONLY wish for this product is to have the ability to buy additional sets of fitted sheets for the bed, as it isn't any sort of standardized size like a crib mattress that you can go anywhere and buy sheets for. I'm guessing I'll have to make additional sets. One of my worries was if my child were to have an accident on the bed in the middle of the night, I wouldn't have a replacement set to throw on the bed while the soiled set was thrown in the washing machine. Please correct me if I'm wrong!
I would buy this product again in a heartbeat. It definitely served its intended purpose.
Customer Review: Awesome bed Summary: 5 Stars
We bought this product for our 21 month old for vacation. He is too big for a pack-and-play and the place where we were staying did not have a crib. Our son is used to taking naps on a cot at daycare, so we thought we would give this a try.
I read another review where the individual was concerned about their child falling off the bed. Let's face it, this product is not rated for a child younger than 2 or 3, so you have to be aware of this. Our son still moves all around the bed while sleeping so he did inch his way off of it one night. The bed is so close to the ground though that it didn't even wake him up. I just picked him up and put him back on it. He's only rolled off once.
The bed is big and durable. He jumps up and down on it sometimes and we haven't had a leak or tear. In fact, once it was pumped up on vacation, we didn't need to add any air for the entire 8 days he slept on it. We all really like the soft fleece cover which stays in place nicely with two attached bands. The bed blows up in about 10 seconds and you can deflate it and have it packed in less than a minute.
We're thrilled to have such a nice product which should last us for another 3-4 years depending on his height. We have been using adult size Aerobeds for years, so we're sure this one will last as well. I would receommend this product to anyone with children.
Customer Review: Worth it! Summary: 5 Stars
I debated whether to recommend that family members purchase these for my kids (2 and 4) as a place to sleep during our out of town visits; the cost compared to a basic twin air mattress was my greatest concern. But having just used them for the first time this weekend, I can now attest that this is a great product that does offer something significantly different from your typical twin air mattress. They blow up in NO TIME, deflate in NO TIME, come with their own pump (super easy to use) and soft cover that actually stays on, and of course, they also have the "rails" that, for the most part, keep kids in (although my youngest rolled out twice the first night, but he's just transitioning to a bed and still has his "move everywhere" crib mentality. The 4 year old stayed in just fine). But most important to me, these mattresses are small enough to fit in tight spots while still able to accomodate my kids for a long while. I'm just over 5' tall, and I could sleep on this if I didn't mind my feet dangling over the edge a bit. The only negative thing I might say about them is what others have mentioned -- they do make a little "squeaky" noise when kids move around/roll over, but nothing uncommon to air matresses, honestly. If you're sleeping in the same room with a very active kid sleeper and you're a light sleeper yourself, though, it could be an issue.
Customer Review: Worth Every Penny! Summary: 5 Stars
We purchased this inflatable bed for our son prior to a two-week trip to India. He's too big for a pack-n-play, but still not big enough to sleep on his own in an adult bed. Plus, we wanted to avoid the hassle of carrying a large travel bed all the way across the world.
We inflated the bed for a test run a few weeks before our departure date and our son loved it so much he chose to sleep in the Aerobed instead of in his fire-engine shaped toddler bed that we paid more than twice as much for! It's super easy to inflate - literally takes less than 30 seconds - with the very powerful pump. Also super easy to deflate, fold and store. The sheet that comes with it is soft and makes the bed more comfortable than just sleeping on the vinyl would be. It's extremely durable - made it around the world and back without a single problem - and very comfortable for our son.
The raised sides are just enough to keep him from rolling out on the floor but not so high that he feels like he's in a "baby bed." The carry duffel makes it easy to keep the bed, pump and sheet all together in one spot.
While I thought the price tag was high when we bought it, our son has had such great rest on this bed that I now feel it was worth every penny. I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for an easy-to-use, sturdy and comfortable travel bed.
Customer Review: Saw bad reviews after I ordered, but shipped bed is great Summary: 5 Stars
It really concerned me after I had already ordered this bed to see reviews where others had problems with the bed being too noisy and disrupting sleep, with the pump sometimes being reported as damaged upon arrival, and with others reporting customer service from the aerobed company as being difficult to deal with.
Good news for me though, because the aerobed for kids that arrived from my order appears to be in perfect condition. The hand held pump is so easy to use, and airs up the bed as fast as was reported in the sales literature. The bed seemed to hold the inflation without any readily apparent subsequent, unwanted deflating.
The printed mattress pad is pretty, but I did notice how it made a noticeable, but not offensive, hiss sound when rubbed. Still I am hoping that sound will not occur when a sheet is used to cover the pad. Also, no matter how I attempted to make the bed squeak with applied pressure and movement; no squeaks could be heard.
One other warning review I saw suggested that the bed be aired out before use due to strong odors emitting from these beds when they have just recently been acquired. Still the bed I received shipped to me emitted no noticeably offensive odor.
I am now happy to know none of those other's reported problems occurred for me.
