Tools and Hardware Reviews of AeroBed Sleep Tight Inflatable Bed for Kids

Customer Review: portable, easy to use, and sturdy.
Summary: 5 Stars

An excellent product for our family. We bought this for a long trip with our two-year old. It came in extremely handy when staying with friends, and even in a few hotels where a "child's bed" in the room turned out to be a Pack and Play. The "well" shape encouraged our active sleeper to stay in place throughout the night...but I wouldn't recommend it if your child is not yet transitioned out of a crib. It is definitely not going to keep a little one in bed! It comes with its own pump and fitted flannel cover sheet. Plug in the pump and inflate in about 1 minute! Easy as can be. It deflates quickly too, and the whole thing fits in a duffle bag to carry it. I'd say the whole ensemble weighs around 10 pounds, so take that into account if you're stuffing it into your suitcase for a flight as we did. The mattress is about 6 pounds on its own - it is definitely built to last, which is a good thing since our little angel has already dismantled a few other inflatables. Highly recommended for an active 2/3-ish to probably 10 or 11 year old. A much better choice for us than many of the other inflatable beds we considered previously - most of those were pretty flimsy by comparison, and we'll be using this one a long time. She actually got home and wanted to sleep in this once more at home before going back to her "Big Girl Bed"

Customer Review: Very useful portable bed
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this Aerobed in mid-2008 for use on trips by our then older toddler. After almost 3 years of use, I'm now finally selling it. Happy to be decluttering. :-) The bed has held up really well. Just make sure your kids don't jump on it. It seems a bed on the floor is too inviting for little kids. :-)

What I love about this:

- quick and easy inflation with included pump. My kids (and I) were intrigued at how quickly this bed inflated -- less than a minute, I believe, and not too noisy either.
- super fast deflation.
- rolls up easily into its own carry bag
- soft flannel cover

As a handy tip, when travelling, to protect the mattress in the carry bag, I placed the mattress in a spare pillow case (I have plenty of those around) and the pump in bubble wrap to protect the mattress. This way I prevented a possible flat mattress at my destination!

My older child was a good toddler sleeper on it; my younger one is a wanderer.

All in all, it's a great portable bed when travelling or when young kids are sleeping over. I give this 5 stars.

PS - I have now sold this to another mom (April 2011). She loves Aerobeds for her family.

Customer Review: EVERY kid loves this bed
Summary: 5 Stars

My kids love this bed! We originally purchased for our then 1.5 year old daughter because she would fall off the regular air mattress when we would be visiting Grandma's house. We were too scared to put her in a regular bed. And she was too old for a pack and play (she never liked the whole crib concept). It worked great. But then our then 4 year old son wanted one - they are pretty comfortable and the cover for them are high quality. Now we are going to buy one for our niece - when our kids sleep over at our niece's house, they bring over their aero beds and now our niece really wants one. She even likes to share the bed with our daughter - but don't worry sweetheart - Santa is going to get you your own this Christmas! We love love love this Aerobed. Just make sure you fill it up enough with air and check frequently if it needs to be pumped with air again. The pump it comes with really does work quickly and is easy to handle. Our only minor complaint is that the "O" ring that helps seal the cap keeps coming off. Beware not to lose this "O" ring because I am pretty sure that will affect the air tight seal. Other than that, it was a worthwhile investment. With free prime two day shipping - Amazon is the best place to buy this bed.

Customer Review: Our family loves these wonderful beds!!
Summary: 5 Stars

My family was planning a trip to Southern California over Thanksgiving where we had reserved some hotel rooms. My husband and I knew that our 4 year old and 2 year old girls would not be comfortable bedmates. My mom and sister were also staying in the room with us, so there would not be enough beds anyway. I researched portable child beds and found the highest reviews for these Areobeds for Kids. I decided to get two of them and I have never had a regret since. They are wonderful!! My girls were excited when they came and I blew one up for them to experience it. They had a blast laying on it. They loved the fleece moon and stars cover. I loved how very fast and easy it was to inflate. It was also a cinch to deflate, roll and store in the dufflebag.
When we used them in California the girls easily and comfortably fell asleep on them. Neither one of them rolled off or had a bad night. Their cousins were a bit jealous of the beds and asked me if they could take them to their room to sleep on!! :)
I am so glad that I bought these beds. They have been worth every penny and I plan to use them for a long time to come.
I highly recommend these beds.

Customer Review: Wish I had kown the following before the purchase!
Summary: 2 Stars

1. According to the product instructions, the bed is designed for children 3 years or older! That means it is not safe for my 16 mth old. I didn't know this until I opened the box and read the instructions inside. Believe me, the manufacture didn't mention this anywhere-else, not even in their web site.

2. Can be used with 120V power supply Only! [...]

3. The bed rails are way too low. I understand some other customer saying that you can put the bed between a hotel bed and the wall. In that case I'd rather buy a Coleman 4-in-1. I don't know why I should pay extra money for the useless bed rails.

4. My toddler likes to toss around before he falls into sleep. Well, the noises from the mattress keep him wild awake. Maybe he will get use to it, or maybe I should just toss this bed out.

5. Air bed return policy is different (at least for walmart). Please check the details before you open the box! I knew some people saying you need to air it out before use it. I would say, if you purchased it, give it a try before you waste your time to air it out.

I was so exited when I purchased it, but so disappointed after using it. Good luck with your purchase.
