Customer Review: Gets The Cigar Smoke Out!!!

Okay, your wife says you can have one room to smoke cigars, but the smoke better get exhausted, because she doesn't want the "fragrance" to permeate the rest of the castle. You try an open window...phew, doesn't work; then an air purifier; no where near enough clean air. So you call an air exchange specialist who gives you a dollar estimate that you think could buy you a Palm Springs condo. Hmm, what to do, what to do....Get yourself an Air King 9550. This little powerhouse, on full blast, will exhaust 2181 cubic feet of air a minute, with enough force, that you don't have to worry about cold air intrusion. A room full of cigars and a lively poker game may take two 9550s, but by morning the smoke is gone. Turn the fan around for half an hour and all traces of cigar aroma are vanished as the 9550 pulls in fresh air. I tried professional model ozone generating air purifiers that cost hundreds of dollars and my cigar den remained odorous, but one 9550 did an incredible job. I bought two, thinking that one might not do the job, but the second one is now my emergency and poker night back-up.

The Air King 3-Speed Utility Blower 9550 is a great product! I use it to cool myself while I exercise on an elliptical trainer. I sat it in a corner...it's quite compact...turned it to low, and wow! Now I set it at medium, and it shoots a jetstream of air right at my head and upper body, from a distance of about eight feet. The head pivots higher than shown in the picture, by the way. The Air King will outblow anything in its price range and also many larger, costlier, and noisier competitors. Furthermore, it is not overly noisy, considering the volume of air involved.
My only complaint is the tick-grey plastic casing, but if I were to deduct a star, I would just have to start with six in order to still have five. You could make a lot of money if you took these insides, had the shell designed by Ralph Lauren, had the ad copy written by Vornado, and then doubled the price.
I would not have found this product without Amazon...thanks.

A friend of mine had the black & yellow Stanley version of this blower out on his dock during a Summer party. I was impressed by the quietness and volume of air it moved, so I bought one at Wal-Mart. The motor burned out within a couple of weeks. They didn't have any to exchange, so I got a refund and purchased the Air King version from Amazon. It has survived over a year now with no problems. This same fan seems to be sold under several brands with the only difference being the color scheme: Air King (gray/black), Stanley (yellow/black), and Lasko (navy/black). There were two versions sold under the Air King brand. The 9550 had a removable, "computer-style" power cord. The Air King 9552 (like the Stanley and Lasko) has a permanently-attached power cord. I wouldn't be surprised to see this unit sold under other brands as well, but they all appear identical except for color.Customer Review: Hurricane Fan

I carry two of these on the job. I am a front of house engineer, I'm the guy sitting behind all the knobs at concerts, and we work outdoors all summer usually in very hot weather. One of these fans lives under the front of house desk and the other in monitor world on stage. This fan moves more air than any fan I've used and it does so with little noise. It has handy outlets on the side for the occation when the video crew needs to charge a battery. I don't know what I'd do without one of these when it's 100 degrees out and I have to sit in one place for hours one end. The fan saves me from burning up. It has a super heavy duty cable and a three speed switch. This is a great fan if you want to concentrate air flow on one person. The up and down adjustment is also a great feature putting air flow exactly where you want it.Customer Review: Great fan ... but ....

We bought two of these about 4 months ago to use in the bedroom. We like the noise of a fan, but we also like lots of air movement. These fans DO move the air. For that, I give the fan 5 stars!!
However, over the last 2 weeks, the fans now put off an odor ... almost a chemical smell. My husband goes to bed hours before me, and shuts the bedroom door. When I go back the bedroom, there is a VERY strong chemical smell. The side vents are regularly vacuumed, so it is not a dust build up. I have no clue what it is, and I'm doing my best to find out.
If the smell was more of an electrical smell, I would be concerned and quit using them. But it's not, it is more of a chemical smell. I will try and update this review if we figure out what the smell is.
