After trying a lot of fans and hating most of them because they were either not really moving any air or they were too loud to have them sitting close to me, I found this one here and it does it all for me. I now have three of them and all are working great. They are quiet and they STAY quiet even after many hours of use. The only thing I'd improve is adding another lower speed level as the two levels it has are both providing a lot of air flow and sometimes I wish it could just blow with a light breeze.Customer Review: Good Desktop Fan

I chose this model specifically because other reviewers mentioned that it was quiet. My office is very quiet and I was not disappointed, I can barely hear it working.
It does not move tremendous volumes of air, but it is fine for personal desktop use. I find that the On/Off, speed control switch on the rear of the motor to be somewhat ackward to use. The power cord is quite generous in length and very flexible.
Time will tell how long this product lasts.

As most of the other reviewers mentioned, this fan is exceptionally quiet, at least on the low setting, which is what I use. It is a simple fan and seems fairly well built. The base is very light, but the fan is stable and does not vibrate none-the-less. The price is fairly high for a simple, 6" fan, but better to pay it than to buy a piece of junk for half the price. This wee fan features two speeds, both more than adequate to provide a solid breeze for a small room or office space. Its whisper-quiet operation is a delight -- providing just a slender susurration of white noise for sleeping or slightly shushing the din of a busy officespace, but not enough to erupt into one's consciousness. I bought a couple more for family members and one for a friend with a stuffy office.Customer Review: Handy little fan

Just needed a small fan to help keep me cool during the hot days or just to circulate air. Have had this for the past... 7 months and still working well. The only problem was that when it arrived, part of the plastic base was broken so if I tried placing it on an uneven surface, it may not stay (but perfectly fine for even surfaces). I told the shipper about it and they refunded my shipping cost.
