I was looking to find a suitable flashlight for a senior member of my family. Out of the box and at first sight I seriously had my doubts about the Oval LED flashlight. Even though the body was balanced and light in weight, this model had a cheap look and feel about it. Weighing in at about 6 ounces with (3) AA batteries, it measures 4" high and almost 6" in length.
The onboard LEDs are labeled as Ultra Bright Luxeon. The packaging listed the output as 60 lumens. Once energized, the forward beam on this unit was somewhat bright, but not as full as my Maglite. The bottom mounted double LED light did not energize. After repeated attempts to power up I finally boxed this model up and shipped it back for a refund.
This flashlight comes with a one year limited manufacturer's warranty and (3) AA batteries. The Wyoming based company also includes a customer support number and a website with limited product information.
In closing, I found the OV2 Ultra Oval LED flashlight over priced and inferior in both quality and craftsmanship. Until these design and manufacturing issues are resolved I would not recommend this product.
