I tried every shade tree method I could think of and nothing worked to hold the crank shaft still while removing the pulley bolt. With the right tool it took me less than 5 minutes. I'll keep it forever just in case I have friends or family who need to change their Honda or Acura timing belt. Great quality, spend the few bucks. This tool proved very hard to use. I had to result to a different method to get the bolt off after close to an hour of attempting to use this tool. Needless to say that unless you have another person holding the tool in place while you loosen the crank shaft bolt.
I do not recommend this tool. There is a much better designed tool in Amazon.

A very large impact would not remove the bolt. I put a jack on the breaker bar attached to the tool and another jack under the breaker bar attached to the bolt. Brought both jacks up and the bolt came loose without a fuss.
The tool was loose in the pulley so you will have to hold it until things get bound up, that's why I gave it 4 stars.

My crank pulley needed about 700 ft-lbs for removal. If you need to get it off, and don't have a fancy impact wrench, this is a necessary tool, along with some dependable breaker bars, a jack, and some pipe to get some more leverage on your bars.
Going in unprepared turns this job from a half a day, into two days. Trust me.

I used this tool to install under drive pulleys. I tried numerous other methods to remove my crankshaft pulley to no avail. This tool did what a 750lbft impact wrench could not! The tool is descent quality and seems well built. It made a seemingly impossible job possible. I used it on a later model k series engine by the way.
