Tools and Hardware Reviews of Powerbuilt 648796 Honda Crankcase Pulley Removal Tool

Customer Review: Thank goodness I bought it!
Summary: 5 Stars

This tool made a nightmare of a job bearable. When a high torque bold has 80000 miles on it, it gets rather stubborn. This tool along with two 3 foot breaker bars made it pretty easy.

Customer Review: Buy it before you need it
Summary: 5 Stars

Ordered it, received it, used it, love it.
If you're ever going to need it, buy it ahead of time. Don't wait until your Honda timing belt or water pump breaks. Luckily when mine broke, I was on vacation from work the next 2 days. Although the overnight shipping was perfect and on time, I paid for it :-(
Amazon customer service even called my phone to tell me it would arrive within the hour, and it did.
This is the perfect tool for the job, if you need the 50mm. Don't order the wrong tool for the job and then leave a bad review just because you didn't know what size you needed.
Don't forget, your torque wrench probably starts at 10 ft. lbs., you need 7 & 9 ft. lbs. I didn't think ahead. Anyway, think about a torque wrench.

Customer Review: Alltrade 648796 Honda Crankcase Pulley Removal Tool
Summary: 5 Stars

Worked perfect. After fighting with Honda crank bolts for years, I wounder why I did not buy one sooner!!!!

Customer Review: Worked fine on 2001 Honda Accord 23A1 engine
Summary: 5 Stars

Used this tool to remove the crankshaft bolt on a 2001 Honda Accord with the F23A1 motor. Tool does not fit tight in the socket but didn't slip. Took 3ft of breaker bar to loosen the bolt, but tool was fine. No bending or damage noted. Maintenance manual suggests using a chain/spanner wrench to hold the pulley but this might damage the groves in the pulley and cause the AC/Alt belts to wear out or break. I'm glad I waited and used this tool.

Customer Review: Great tool
Summary: 5 Stars

I used this tool to loosen the crankshaft pulley bolt on a 2003 Honda Pilot. Previous attempts using 3 different air impact wrenches yielded no result. Using the Alltrade Crankshaft pulley holder along with a 5' breaker bar finally loosened the 19mm bolt. A great tool, very well made, finished and very durable. I used to use adhoc methods in the previous ~20 timing belts I changed on Honda's to hold the pulley while loosening the bolt but this is the best tool I've every come across. Anyone that is going to remove that bolt (most likely for a timing belt or water pump change) should get this tool.

On a sidenote, I did call a Honda dealership to make certain that the bolt was clock-wise tighten and the service tech said it was (normal bolt threads) and that from the factory they are "very very very tight"/
