Tools and Hardware Reviews of Powerbuilt 648796 Honda Crankcase Pulley Removal ToolCustomer Review: Will fit a 91 Integra! Summary: 5 Stars
Yeah, I was pretty skeptical at whether or not this would work on my 91 stock Integra. Guess what!? It does and I happy because of it!! I know that changing my timing belt without this tool would be nearly impossible without some sort of air tool, as I did!! Guess what though, you may be able to get this tool from a local parts store. So, instead of spending money on shipping, spend some money on gas and try to find it locally!!
Customer Review: Excellent tool to change your timing belt Summary: 5 Stars
Without this tool, it is impossible to remove the 19mm bolt that is fastened through the crankshaft pulley. You need two breaker bars to use this one.
Impact wrench can not remove this one and I can attest to that. Buy this one and you won't regret it. This will fit on Honda CR-V as well...of course most Honda Civics I think...
This will save you a couple of hours banging that bolt....
Customer Review: Don't Hesitate - GET THE TOOL Summary: 5 Stars
I decided to buy the pulley tool, since I'm replacing my timing belt and water pump. I've heard stories of guys using 600 ft lb air impact wrenches or guys who spend half a day trying to loosen the pulley bolt using all sorts of crazy methods. Using the tool and two two-foot breaker bars, I had the pulley bolt off in under 10 seconds. Make your life easy: Get the Honda pulley tool if you're working on Hondas.
Customer Review: Essential tool for Timing belt replacement Summary: 5 Stars
If you don't have air tools you need this tool to remove the crank shaft pulley. One breaker bar is attached to this tool to prevent the crank from turning, the other breaker bar on the bolt, with a couple of extensions to allow you to turn it from outside the wheel well. Its still difficult to loosen, I needed reposition them until I found a location that prevented the engine from flexing on the motor mounts.
Customer Review: It worked Summary: 4 Stars
After using an "OEM" tool when I worked at the dealership, this one was a little difficult to use. It was hard to hold the tool in the pulley AND break the bolt loose without it falling out. If you have a second person to help hold it in place, then it works great. Otherwise, it can be a little tricky. If I had to do it all over again (and I will, I have 2 Hondas) I would still buy one of these tools.
