Customer Review: It does the job

I read all reviews before I purchased it and I think I recalled someone giving it a bad rating because they said it was like laying on sandpaper. Although, I think that was an over-expression, it isn't the softest material I have ever felt. It's hard to describe, but to describe the material in my opinion is almost like the feeling of a starched (or slightly over-starched) cheap men's dress shirt. It's not exactly a smooth material or tightly stitched (hence the 200 thread count). If you have bought a brand new pillow that's very "plump", you'll have a bit of a struggle getting the pillow case on, but it will fit (although a little snug). The tag IS on the outside of the pillow case on one side (about 6 inches from the corner of the zipper) which is a little odd, but it's only about an inch wide and an inch and a half long, but it personally doesn't bother me. I had read that some others were disappointed with the fact that darker fabrics (I got the navy color) had a white zipper, but there is a piece of fabric about an inch wide that covers the zipper (kind of like a pocket on the end of the pillow where the zipper is). I probably would try a softer fabric (higher thread count) next time, but this one is doing it's job since I was simply looking for a cover for a bare pillow.

American Textile solid color 200-thread-count 100 percent cotton body pillow covers, with zippered closure.A down body pillow is an investment to protect, and this pillow cover does the trick at keeping off sweat and body oils. Measuring 20 by 54 inches, the lightweight cover is made of 100-percent cotton in a tightly woven 200-thread count. A very slight nap adds softness. A white zipper runs across one of the narrow ends, adding contrast to the cover if it's in one of the available non-white colors.
