This is the strongest magnet I have ever encountered that's not an electro magnet. If it's on a piece of steel it is difficult to pry it off. I don't think a child would be strong enough to separate it from whatever it is attached.
If you want a very very strong magnet, look no further!

I ordered two of these for my son's science experiments. They are exceedingly strong! They came with plastic "cushions" sandwiched in between. Be careful not to let them stick together. You will have a hard time separating them, and you might hurt your fingers or sprain your wrists doing that.Customer Review: Very strong magnet
