I use my water globe all the time. It was a gift from a co-worker who was tired of seeing my poor plant listless and starving for water. When filled with water, it is very heavy but it works great. My plant is in my cubicle so it doesn't get a lot of fresh air...and since my plants soil it moist all the time, it has now started growing mold at the top of the soil. I'm thinking I should let the soil dry out a little bit before filling the globe...kinda defeats the purpose of the water globe, dont you think? :)Customer Review: good, but Wine Bottle Plant Nanny Much better

I picked a couple of these up thinking they are pretty and if they do what I need then it will make keeping my plants watered during the summer easier. They work okay, but it is really easy to get dirt clogged in the thin stem. Also they don't hold a lot of water, and are very delicate/breakable.
I was in our local gardening store and found 6451 Wine Bottle Plant Nanny Stakes -- Three 4-packs, which are a ceramic base and you stick a wine bottle filled with water into the base. These were wonderfully. Plus wine bottles are easier to deal with including filling, carrying and such.

Aqua Globes Glass Plant Watering Bulbs - 2 Pack #AG011706 are more useful NOW that I finally discovered a way to quickly fill one and remove dirt from the stem at the same time. The filler tool is so simple that I had it patented. It fills a globe under 10 seconds with no water waste. I may try to market them for under $[...] each if there is enough interest. [...]. Keeps your plants from wilting--I love them. Although plants do recover wilting stresses them and shortens bloom time. Aquaglobes serve as a 'canary' to let you know your plants are drying out - when the water level goes down in your aquaglobe it's a visual reminder to water the plant. Aquaglobes have been instrumental in keeping my hydrangeas alive,as a day or two neglect causes those water-lovers major harm. Customer Review: Look great but don't save time

I received these for Christmas presents. They are very difficult to fill and waste a lot of water in the process. They must be refilled before completely empty or you have to dig dirt out of the fragile stem. They do add wonderful color for the plants in the window, but really are not a time saver or a water saver.
