Tools and Hardware Reviews of Ariante Torchiere Designer Floor LampCustomer Review: Ordered this 3 years ago, about to order more! Summary: 5 Stars
I originally ordered 2 of these lamps 3 years ago. And today they are both going strong. They started off in a bedroom as and then are now sitting in my living room the sole source of light. I have moved with them 3 times to 3 different apartments and now they are in my forever home. The shades are a bright white and diffuse the light bulbs very nicely without burning your eyes. The stalks and base are very solid and although they arent heavy, they balance out the lamp so when you hit it, it doesnt immediately fall over. I like that the switch to turn the lamps on are not that cheap plastic, but are heavy brass metal and is very solid feeling in your hand. I bought them for twelve bucks each back then and was shocked to see they are still available on amazon even now years later. About to buy 2 more!
Customer Review: Got exactly what I wanted/expected... Summary: 5 Stars
I bought five or six of these when they were priced at around $5-6 and they were well worth every penny. We recently purchased a home that was built in the 1980's and the lighting is not great. These torchieres will do a lovely job of tiding us over until we can afford to install the lighting we want. They ARE cheaply made, but they hide that fact fairly well. We have one in our formal living room and it fits in rather nicely. Let's be honest... if you do it right, a corner lamp shouldn't be your visitors' main focus anyway. Right? These lamps make for great supplemental lighting. They'd also be great for a dorm room, office, waiting room, first apartment (gift?)...
I'm not the least bit displeased with my purchase.
Customer Review: Horrible! Summary: 1 Stars
Hey, I wasn't expecting much but seriously, these are a pretty bad. I bought two of these for my office. The plastic shade comes all dented and looks so cheap. The stupid pieces don't fit together right and so if you move it, you have to pick it up from the base or it falls apart. AND the switch gets stuck pretty much all the time so that it's really hard to turn it. I'm the kind of person who enjoys fixing things so I've taken it apart and tried to fix it and its still rotten. The second lamp is just completely broken now after only 6 weeks. SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!! I'm back on amazon looking for new lamps actually :)
Customer Review: These are not as described... Summary: 1 Stars
The description clearly states:
-Brass plated finish
-Ivory plastic shade
yet both of these statements are untrue. The lamps I received are black with white plastic shades edged in gold.
For the price, I wasn't expecting high quality, but they should, at the very least, match the given product description.
So, unless you are looking for a black lamp with a gold edged white plastic "shade" (not a bronze & ivory lamp) this is NOT the product you want to buy.
Customer Review: Great Price, Good Product Summary: 4 Stars
I ordered two of these lamps and was surprised at the height of them, make sure you note that they are 66" tall. The globe on the lamp is plastic and the stand is metal. It took about 5 minutes to assemble the lamps and they required no tools. I really enjoyed the fact that they have a three way rotary switch. The lamps seem to be stable and they put out enough light to fill my den. The product meets all of my expectations for the price that I paid. I would buy this product again.
