Tools and Hardware Reviews of Arnold OEM-190-180 FastAttach Twin Bag Grass CollectorCustomer Review: Absolutely Wonderful Summary: 5 Stars
This is a great buy. I have a 38" MTD (about 2 years old). I installed this with only a little trouble in about 3 hours. The instructions are sufficient. In a couple of places you have to reread the instructions but with a little focus you can do it. I'm not mechanically inclined but had little trouble. Every part I needed was in the box. I only have 1/2 an acre and using it with the first mow of the season filled up the twin bags 6 times with pine needles and grass. It left the yard looking fantastic. I can now get away with letting the grass get a little higher in between mows. Wish I had purchased this when I got the mower. I would highly recommend!!
Customer Review: Replacement parts Summary: 4 Stars
I spent alot of time trying to find a replacement for the rubber strap from the mower to the chute. I finally found a part number of MTD 723-04008A. If you are new to buy this, order a couple of extra chute straps ($4 each) to have on hold, because the strap is rubber and will rot over time.
Search "General Assembly Bagger parts MTD OEM-190-180 Twin Bagger" to find any part for this grass catcher. I found best prices and best HELP at discountonlineparts dot com in TN. partstree in TX is a great site but a little bit higher.
I have new high-lift blades to see if this will prevent the grass from clogging once it gets to the chute.
Customer Review: -Good for the price Summary: 4 Stars
Shipping was fast, you do need a few tools to attach, It would not attach to my troy built pony lawn tractor without drilling two holes in the side back of the lawnmower to attach the hanging bracket support. It does work good though, it fills up one bag first then blows over the top and fills up the other. I put 30gal garbage bags in the baggers and that works great plus i'm sure it will save on ware of the bags of the bagger. Over all it saves alot of work. I Don't expect to cut wet grass 6"or so tall and try and cut it two 2" tall and expect it not to clog because it propley would, but like anything if you use it for what it;s intended for it works good.
Customer Review: close, but not exact Summary: 4 Stars
Gotta say, everything about this bagger is great except for the fact that the 600 series adaptors needed to be bent. This was not an easy feat considering they are made of high strength metal. I needed a table clamp and a sledge hammer to bend the bottom of the adaptor plates away from the drive housing. This took the better part of an hour. After that, it took about 45 minutes to get everything else together. Took it out for a test drive, and it picked up everything and stored it evenly into each bag. This is a must have if you are sick and tired of raking up an acres worth of leaves.
Customer Review: MTD Twin Grass Collector Summary: 3 Stars
The price on this finally fell to one I could afford and I purchased it this spring. Assembly and attachment was easy. The collector works well as long as the grass in fairly dry and not too tall. If you are cutting early in the morning or more than about an inch at a time, it will clog up often and then you have to stop and take the tube off and clear it. Also has a problem filling both bags equally so I had to modify the dump tube over the bags to make that work. Overall, the product works as well as it can without being one of the pricier ones that have a blower assist.
