I don't ever buy items priced over $100 on Amazon unless they have been reviewed by other customers first. So, I took a chance when I bought this projector. I've used it on two paintings so far and have been very pleased. Yes, you have to be in a darkened room, but unless you want to spend major $$$$$ that is what you have to do. The two-way removable lens gives you a lot of flexibility for small-to-large projections. The construction is hard plastic and metal, pretty solid. Overall, a real good buy for the money.
