These smoke detectors s u c k, we spent every 45 minutes awake last night. Even after replacing batterys in all 11 smoke detectors they would go off every 45 minutes waking up everyone in the house. Daylight comes and the cheerping stops.
Once one cheerps they all go off beeping 1-2 times, then 45 minutes later after you drift off in REM sleep they FN cheerp again.
Dont buy, unless you like to be woken up alot.

We had 3 9120B smoke alarms installed when we built -- moved in last fall. We have had consistent problems and had all three replaced twice. They will randomly go off -- not a chirp, just a short blast. You can identify the culprit because the green light blinks from the initiating alarm. We reset it and it happens again. I am going to ask my builder to have all 3 replaced with another brand! Do not buy this alarm.Customer Review: Horrible alarm. Shame on my contractor!

We threw out our old alarms because our contractor replaced them all after our remodeling job. We've only had battery ones that worked great in the past. THIS one, however, with its need for both electricity and a battery backup, is ridiculous.
We also had the random chirps during the night. I am so mad! Now I will have to replace all of them again. Why isn't this company issuing a recall?

These alarms go off randomly in the middle of the night. Not a chirp, but full fire alarm. All of them in the house go off since they are connected. Why do they only go off between midnight and 3:00am? Brk says power fluctuation, dust, Spiders. These are crap. After 2 years of waking up randomly in the middle of night with crying kids, I am going to replace them all with another brand. Do not purchase these.Customer Review: Replacement Smoke Detector

I bought this item to replace the older/outdated smoke alarms. What I like most was it plugged right into the current connector. No wires to splice. The old plate had to be replaced, but that was loosening two screws taking the old one off and putting the new one in. In all, it took me 5 minutes to swap the old with the new. If you have a BRK brand alarm, I'd strongly recommend this as a replacement.
