Customer Review: Good thing I checked the reveiws on 4120B replacement.

I too have had to endure sleepless nights because of the 4120b It's now obvious this company manufactures junk and has probably ended more lives due to suicide than they've saved from fires. Our home was outfitted with 4 and within a few months they started chirping. Their website is useless. They've since been removed and used for target practice.
Now to find a brand to replace them.

We bought a new TR HUGHES home about 2 years ago and the BRK FIRST ALERT ALARMS ARE THROUGHOUT THE HOUSE. We are now having continuing problems with middle of night beeping for these VERY VERY DEFECTIVE ALARMS WHICH IS THE 91208. When my smoke alarms reached the end of their life (churping, with no relief), I replaced them with the BRK models 7020B and 9120B. In this way I had coverage for the two main types of fires - smoldering and kitchen/electrical. These installed easily using the plugs from my old smoke alarms. If you need to replace your smoke alarms I feel that you will be pleased with these.Customer Review: Poor documentation

The unit works OK after I could figure out how to install it. It has a very innovative connector to make it easy for installing but has the worst documentation you can imagine. The print is so small and hard to read. The format of the one poster size documentation is very inconvenient. The alarm replaced an older model. It was easy to install, and works great, so far. The only complaint I have is the misrepresentation
of the product, where it states the price which was obviously for one unit, but the description says the quantity is 48, leaving the buyer to believe he/she is going to receive 48 individually packaged units for the price advertised.
