Tools and Hardware Reviews of BRK Brands 9120B Hardwired Smoke Alarm with Battery Backup, Single Individual from Contractor PackCustomer Review: Horrible, Horrible, Horrible- make it stop! Summary: 1 Stars
We have tried everything, they chirp all the time, randomly every 6 months for days and days. We are ready to move into a hotel. It ALWAYS happens at night, we replace ALL the batteries, reset ALL of them and they still chirp, not every minute, it is random! And you can never tell which one is chirping to fix it! Our kids are a mess! Don't buy!
Customer Review: Added to existing system Summary: 5 Stars
Bought these as adders to my existing system because the original model has been obsoleted by BRK. Finished basement and then added four new detectors to system. All tested good and function in concert with existing detectors. No problems what so ever with chirping in the middle of the night or otherwise as discussed by other reviews.
Customer Review: 4120SB Summary: 1 Stars
I am thinking that BRK is pushing their lousy defective 4120 smoke detectors to the home builders. My home was installed with these detectors too. And, they too went off 3-4 times early in the AM hours to frighten my 1-year old baby. I have decided to disable them all. Thanks to the reviews here, I will not be getting any BRK products.
Customer Review: BRK 9210B Smoke Alarm Summary: 5 Stars
The hardwired smoke alarm was very easy to install. Although the two mounting screws were set at a different place on the mounting plate, the holes fit nicely with those on the original electrical bracket on the ceiling. Therefore, once the original screws were removed, they were very easy to be used to mount the new smoke alarm.
Customer Review: BRK 9120B Summary: 5 Stars
Easy to install and works perfectly. Although it is advertised as a direct replacement for an older model, it's not quite that easy - you also have to replace the mounting bracket. The electrical connection was identical, however, so no electical work was required. It interfaces properly with a network of the older models.
