Tools and Hardware Reviews of BelOMO 10x Triplet Loupe Folding MagnifierCustomer Review: Great little loupe! Summary: 4 Stars
These are great optically. I use one all the time. I lost one when it fell apart and just had the screws fall out of another, but found the pieces and put it back together. The answer is simple, buy this loupe, and as soon as you get it, find a little screwdriver, take the screws out, and replace them with some nail polish or, what the heck, epoxy to prevent them from loosening. (Of course commercial thread locker would be better yet (maybe)). Still the best loupe you can buy for the money, I just ordered another to have a spare, but I give 4 stars because they fall apart unless you work them over.
Customer Review: Look Closely! Summary: 5 Stars
I wanted a handheld magnifier for plant and insect identification and this loupe exceeds my requirements. The field of view is quite good and the casing is well constructed. It is a good value at going prices!
Don't let the pictures fool you: loupes like this one are still ridiculously small and often seem to disappear in your daypack. Consider purchasing this loupe with one of the optional clip-on neck lanyards (sold by Amateur Geologist) to keep it at hand.
Customer Review: Red hot, and cheaper than the Neeeeee-kon Summary: 5 Stars
Just ordered one of these to replace my battleship grade oh-gee dimestore model. 1.4 ounces, optical quality is waaaaaay better than my cheapie, build quality is good, and the peoples at Amateur Geologist got it to me quickly and without any hassle for $35.99. Note that when it arrived, the package was open; a moment's consternation and I realized that they must have opened it to put the magic sauce on the screws that allegedly work themselves loose over time. Solid.
Customer Review: A Good Purchase Summary: 5 Stars
I've owned this loupe for some time, and used it in the field. I strongly believe the optics is unmatched for the price. The only problem I found is that after carrying the loupe in tight quarters, it has began to contact the cover surface, so the motion of opening it has in effect abraded the paint. This is not a big concern for me because it does not affect the optics. The bottom line is that I would still buy the same loupe today knowing what I know now.
Customer Review: Clearly Excellent. Summary: 5 Stars
I originally bought one of these for my son to use in his geology studies. I was so impressed I ordered another for myself. That one ended up going to my Dad. Now I need to order one for myself (again).
Nice optics, comparable to more expensive alternatives. Nice bright view, minimal aberration. Great value.
