Tools and Hardware Reviews of Bench Dog 10-027 Polymer Crown-Cut Crown Molding Cutting JigCustomer Review: Terribly inaccurate Summary: 2 Stars
I bought this for my table saw found when I cut the crown the spring angle was nearly impossible to duplicate on each piece. The problem is the plastic stops aren't strong enough and allow the wood to push down when the saw hits it, I found a 1/8th inch gap each time I cut. I first believed it was my saw but when I doubled the price and bought a new one I had the same problem. I ended up going with the Kreg jig because the spring stop is secure and the same for each cut.
Customer Review: Great Product but had to send it back Summary: 4 Stars
This jig is a pretty neat tool. I am doing crown molding in my house and was hoping it would work for me. I am using 6" crown and this wouldn't work because of my cheap miter saw and the molding may have been slightly big for the jig. With the jig set at its highest settings for the large crown, my 10" miter wouldn't come all the way down for the left hand cuts. Anything smaller than 6" and I am sure it would work perfectly.
Customer Review: great tool Summary: 5 Stars
This tool worked great for me. I'm a competent do-it-yourselfer, but didn't like crown moulding because of the hassle of using a compound miter saw and screwing up the angles. This tool and a borrowed nail gun made the job a snap. The pictures made it easy to make sure I was making the right cut and the box was easy to position to place the cut in exactly the right place. No problem cutting on both sides with my mitre saw
Customer Review: Good but.. Summary: 4 Stars
It is a nice jig although I would prefer it heavier and have a larger base. It works good on 4-5" molding but anyting larger it feels a bit small. It is durable as it has fallen off the table a couple of times without cracking. It does hold the molding quite well on the fence. Bench Dog makes a good product. I also have the Crown 45 and use it for certain applications but the Bench Dog I think is a better product.
Customer Review: A Real Help for the Amatuer Carpenter Summary: 5 Stars
My husband and I have never had any carpentry classes and we tried to cut crown molding with our miter saw, but every try was a disaster. This little jig greatly improved our ability to get our joints fairly close. We did need to do some caulking, but the painted job looks great.
If you are a beginner and don't have a professional to guide you, we recommend this little jig.
