Customer Review: Poor quality and a short life.

I purchased one of these on amazon a while ago. Initially, it was great. But as others have noted, they are not well made. They do strip out after some use, making them worthless. I did not use this often, so its not like it was heavily used - or abused. This is in a rarely used hobby shop, so saw very little action. These would last a week in a shop where they were used with any regularity. There has to be a better quality featherboard out there. I would not recommend this one - not even for a very light duty shop.Customer Review: poor quality

I am really disappointed with the design of this product. The black plastic knobs broke (tore out) the first time I used them. Bench Dog apparently has a good name, but the two products I have purchased have had major problems. Too much hype.
UPDATE: I called Bench Dog. Their manufacturer changed the design on the knobs. Call Bench Dog--they send free replacements for the knobs with the original design that doesn't tear out.

Ive read more than a few rather unfavorable reviews for this set...
Ive had these a while, haven't used these all that much, but have not found any real problems...
Its obvious to me you do not get the miter attachment, and I dont have any trouble adjusting with the angled slots... There is a perfectly good reason for that...
Who else sells 2 decent feather boards for under $10 each (on sale)....

Bought this to be safe, instead it slipped while I was cutting on my table saw. The last thing anyone needs is a distraction from a poorly designed tool while your hands are a few inches from a table saw blade. You want to take that chance?
Edit: To be fair, Benchdog responded to an email, after about 8 weeks, and sent me new bars. The units now work as advertised and do not slip.

Same complaint as most everyone else. They seem fine at first but I quickly grew to hate the stiff fingers and you have to tighten them so hard in order to prevent them from slipping that you will eventually end up stripping the bolt/knob. The other thing that is really irritating is that you have to buy the miter slides separately! they end up costing way too much.
