Customer Review: Wood excellent--hangers lousy (Better Houseware Corp. 10 peg)

After being stung by an ebay purchase of flimsy wood racks with too short pegs, I purchased 3 of the Better Houseware Corp racks of hardwood with 10 (2 1/4") pegs. The wood supports and pegs are strong enough for my largest mugs, but the hangers are completely unreliable. A small triangle of very thin wire (can easily bend it with my fingers) butts together inside a thin, tiny metal sleeve attached with a very tiny screw. Each wire triangle pulled apart as I tightened the wall screw. I finally had to bend heavier wire to make my own hanging loop AND put wood screws through the wood slats into the wall for good measure. Or you can install a ring loop bracket (pic. hanging hardware). These expanding cup racks of decent construction quality are becoming hard to find, so these are worth dealing with, but be prepared to do some fixing. Alas, a decent bracket would probably have cost the maker another penny.
