I have a home which I only occupy half the year or so. Since the house was constructed, swallows would build mud nests on a brick wall above the front door which has a covered porch. Because nobody was there to shoo them away, their "waste products" destroyed an expensive entry door over the course of a couple years. I purchased the Bird-X last year before locking the house up for the spring. I watched the birds that were currently occupying the nest freak out for about 2 hours after I put this thing up, it was hilarious! They eventually left, and I and was pleased to find no new bird nest when I returned in the fall. Better yet, I've had this thing up for almost a year on the ORIGINAL set of batteries (set on motion detect mode)! However, contrary to the manual, humans CAN hear the annoying sound even when the frequency is set for the highest value. It is somewhat annoying, and delivery folks kind of freak out a little when dropping stuff off on my front door. Still, I am very happy that this thing works! No more birds! Wish I had bought this sooner, BEFORE the finish on a $1200 entry door was all but destroyed by bird poop!Customer Review: Doesn't work!

I bought this product because I have a pigeon problem. Well, instead of repelling the pigeons, it actually attracted more of them. In addition, I noticed possums in my yard that were never there before. And, finally, it DID repel the cardinals and woodpeckers, which it wasn't supposed to! And, yes, I followed the instructions to the letter. So, I would not recommend this product. What DID work for me, as far as the pigeons are concerned, were the holographic tape and owls that I bought. When there's a breeze and the tape and owls are moving around, the pigeons run the other way. So, that's what I would recommend to someone who is trying to get rid of pigeons.Customer Review: Barn Swallows - Does Not Work!!!

I have a boat and barn swallows love to sit on the hand rails and "do their business". Bought this unit to fend off the birds and it does NOTHING.
Set the unit for "continuous" and that did not work. Set the unit for "motion" that did not work either. I've tried different locations on the boat and nothing works. The current location is 3 feet from the rail and there were 8 birds sitting directly in front of it!!!
The unit is not broke; I can hear the sounds it makes. Maybe all the birds in my marina are def? If you have barn swallows, use your money for something else.

We had a bird that would bang into our window everyday, many times over. I purchased a plastic owl, repellent spray, and then bird spikes for the window ledge but it still came back. Finally, the Ultrasonic Bird Repeller worked to keep the bird away! Over a few days the number of bird visits decreased and then stopped altogether. You can barely hear the repeller on the lowest frequency but it is out front of the house and doesn't bother us. I couldn't hear the repeller when I turned the frequency up a little higher. Great range. Definitely worth the money!Customer Review: Keep your money

I received the package proceeded to install it and waited for the birds to leave. First day nothing happened, so we raised the power to maximum, the birds kept coming and dancing on the machine. We decided to wait some more and give it time. After five days, we pulled the plug and and gave it up for a lost cause. Luckily I had ordered the Original Pest Offense Repeller $21.95, also from amazon at the same time (just in case). Plugged that one in and within hours the birds were gone from my entry way and I don't have to deal with their poop anymore.
