This product advertises as a dog, cat and raccoon deterrent. It is definitely not, I have a problem with racoons attacking my trash cans at night. I have placed this within ten feet of the trash, the racoons still overturn the trash cans and littered the garbage all over the driveway. I tried it as a stray cat repellent as claimed, it did not work either, the stray cats sleep on my porch furniture at night, and I would love to get rid of them. And it definetly does not keep my neighbors dog from pooping all over my yard. Extremely disappointed, would love to receive information on a product that actually works.Customer Review: Pleasantly surprised, so far!

Over the past three years our property has been decimated by hungry rabbits. After two years of hit and miss with a live trap, I desperately (and skeptically)forked out the money to purchase the Bird-X YG Yard Gard Ultrasonic Animal and Pest Repellent. I have been pleasantly surprised at how well this product is working. I have seen only a couple of rabbits since I installed the unit. As a bonus, the many squirrels frequenting my bird feeder have also decided to look elsewhere. I am optimistic that I will have as much success keeping the raccoons out of our apple tree and off the roof later this summer.Customer Review: so far so good

The first unit had problems out of the box.. Manufacture replaced the unit with no hassle. I have had no problems with cats on the car since installing the repeller. I also used a "cat away spray" in the carport. The weather has gotten much colder which may keep the cats close to their own homes, and away from my car. I beleive the yard gard does provide benefits... we will see this spring....
I know for sure the small plug-ins availabe in most stores... will keep the mouse away, so hopefully the Yard Gard will do the job on the cats this spring...
I would buy it again...

Since putting this out, my roses haven't been touched by the deer(grown 3 feet, last year no growth at all), my herbs haven't been eaten by our local groundhog, and a friend of mine who purchased it, can get out of her car without the neighbor's dog attacking her.
The yardgard has a frequency selector to keep all different types of animals away. You can even use battery power to install in remote locations. While, it may not work for a determined pest, in my neighborhood, with a huge deer problem, it works great! Best money I've spent on any gardening tool ever.

I bought this product because of the promises it made to repel squirrels. The squirrels haven't even noticed it. I have it on constantly and right where they enter the garden but they jump over it and have continued their destruction. The only thing that has noticed it is my neighbor who can hear the high pitch noise it puts out!!!! If it's squirrel's you want to repel this is not for you. I had the most luck with a inside household sonar machine (pointed out the window) which doesn't mention squirrels but does seem to have some effect on them.
