I purchased an item much like this years ago and that device was very effective, which is why I bought this one. The directions are not very clear as to the operation of the settings. There are numerous settings for animals and other pests but you don't know where to set the dial. Also it is NOT effective at all against squirrels (grey and red) or chipmunks. I live in northern Wisconsin and that was the primary reason I bought this item. But it does a great job,so far, of keeping my neighbors dogs away.Customer Review: Bats be gone...

My attic was being overtaken by bats. I was desperate for a way to get rid of the bats without taking elaborate steps of putting nets up or trying to exterminate with chemicals. So I decided to give this unit a try. This thing works perfertly. I set it up in the attic pointing it directly at the location where the bats made their home. Within 3 days of turning it on all the bats were gone. What a piece of mind this thing has created. Now I leave it on all the time and have not had any bats return.Customer Review: Works perfectly!

I bought this after watching the squirrels destroy my garden last year, hoping to minimize the damage they do. Well, so far this year the garden has been in for 2 months and NOT ONE squirrel has gone in the garden. I adjusted it a little and found if you plug it in rather than use batteries it's totally silent. When I used batteries and had it turn on with the motion sensor there is a weird high pitched tone that goes off every time it cycles. Now that it's plugged in it's silent and works fantastic!Customer Review: Best $60 ever spent. No more cat problem.

I had a problem with a neighbor's cat leaving poop on my lawn. It also was burning the lawn with urine. Two days after I setup this Yard Guard Ultrasonic repeller, I was driving home and some by neighbor's cat running across the road away from my house. I never saw that cat run fast before. I haven't found any poop all week. When I set it for Cats the sound is undetectable to people. It just makes a chirp sound when it shuts off. Great product. No more cat - no more poop - no more headache - nice lawn.Customer Review: It's done it job pretty well.

I purchased this to get the neighborhood cats to stay away from our home. Our dog is always penned or tied and they love to torture him. It has worked well for all but two pesky monsters.
The hummingbirds have still nested close to it and the small squirels don't seem to be bothered. But the worst of the cats and dogs are gone -- even the ants have moved on!
It will be interesting to see how it effects the deer and elk who like to eat our trees and shrubs.
