Customer Review: gets rid of evil cats and squirrels

We had a problem with a neighbor's two cats using our adjoining flat roof as both a litterbox and a soundstage for howling. We'd tried all sorts of things and nothing seemed to deter them so my wife was looking online for a solution and came upon this gadget. We put it on the roof and to give you an idea of its effect, imagine if you can, the look of a terrified running cat with his paws over his ears. It's worked on both those guys so well that they haven't been back in the past year although they're constantly looking over at it, apparently to see if it's on.
Our next problem was with squirrels in our backyard. We live in Brooklyn, NY and have about a 20' x 20' backyardthat has for years been savaged by squirrels. Last year I humanely trapped seven squirrels for relocation before I finally gave up. This spring we bought another one of these units for the backyard and although they still dance along the chain link fence separating the yards they've yet to actually enter our yard to dig it up. For us this thing is a technological marvel and so far has a 100% success rate with annoying critters.

Although dog owners still walk their dog in front of my house, I haven't seen any dogs pee on my shrubs or been annoyed by the sound. But then again, I am not always there watching. When I turn up the diode, I can hear the annoying sound. But I'm not too sure that dogs are annoyed by it. I'll leave it on a little bit longer. But if I catch any dogs peeing on my shrub, then I'd give ZERO star for this item.Customer Review: Did seem to stop anything

I have problems with pest that grub for worms/grubs/etc and have tried many things. I bought this since it was supposed to repell any animals that are in my area. The grubbing activity didn't slow down any.Customer Review: My garden is no longer a litter box

We were having a hard time keeping our cats and other neighborhood cats out of our gardens. We tried all the tricks we found on the net, but nothing worked. We decided to give the Bird-x animal repeller at try. After install we watched as our cats would walk toward the garden then turn and book it when the motion detector kicked it on. The only problem we encountered was, we decided to mount them in a sheltered box, and the adjustment knobs are located on the back of the unit, requiring us to remove them everytime we want to change a setting. This is only a problem because of how we mounted them. All in all, they seem good. Unless you're my cats! Customer Review: Probably Works

It definitely 'works'...I can't hear it, but my children sure can. They complain about it no matter what frequency I set it to. Fortunately, they sleep on the other side of the house. If you want something to keep pesky teens away...this is for you!! I'm 'guessing' it works for its intended purpose because I haven't seen the mink I bought it to repel. When I put big juicy fish back in the pond, we'll know for sure.
The instructions are well written and make it clear that your defense system against critters should involve multiple elements. That's very responsible. I love the long power cord.
There's an odd comment in the instructions that says if the red indicator light burns out, you can't simply replace the bulb; you must replace the unit. I'd hate to replace something because of a burned out bulb! If the bulb is really an LED and pretty much immortal and the fact that it doesn't light really means the circuits in the unit have fried and, therefore, the unit must be replaced, it'd make more sense. (Long/complex sentence, I know.)
