Tools and Hardware Reviews of BISSELL 3106A Featherweight Lightweight VacuumCustomer Review: I'm Sold---And For Cheap! Summary: 5 Stars
Living in the Pacific Northwest (LOTS of trees) for me means sweeping endless amounts of pine needles off of my wood floors. I checked out the reviews for this little stick vac and decided it was worth a shot. The price can't be beat and this thing works perfectly for what I needed it for. I use it to vacuum the aforementioned pine needles, leaves and dog hair off of of the hard floors in my hallway, diningroom and kitchen. I also use it for quick spot vacuuming on my carpet between full-on vacuumings. It's not meant to be a regular vacuum, it doesn't deeply vacuum carpet, so don't expect that! Today I used the feature where you can pull the handle off and it becomes a hand vac. That worked well and I vacuumed the inside of my car, using the electrical outlet right next to my garage. It's light enough to do my stairs and absolutely exceeds my expectations. For my intended use of pretty much daily vacuuming of my hard floors, this Bissell Vac is the cat's pajamas. No more bending over and chasing dog hair and pine needle piles around to get them into the dustpan--hurray!
Customer Review: Good vac for the price Summary: 4 Stars
I was going to somehow work in an "it sucks, but still buy it" joke in the title, but wasn't sure that would make it past the censors!
This little vacuum is light-weight, easy to clean/empty, and does a good job on hard surfaces such as tile (main use in our house) or hardwood. On carpets, well...that's why it doesn't get five stars. It will pick up most small items on most carpet piles making it OK for touch-ups, but forget about any type of deep cleaning. Save that job for a regular vacuum if you want every last bit of dirt sucked up and/or you are concerned about allergies.
We bought it primarily as an upstairs vac for the master bathroom and so far it has done a good job picking up the dust, hair, and other bathroom debris. The cord is a good length, it's fairly quiet, and its weight makes it easy to maneuver in tight spots. Including a crevice tool for those tight spots was a nice touch, btw.
The vacuum head does not pivot side-to-side, a minor detail negated by the price and the vac's overall performance. It's a keeper.
Customer Review: Don't waste your time with a broom Summary: 5 Stars
I have hardwood floors with area rugs. I've vacuumed twice in two weeks now and I am still amazed how much dirt it picks up. As for complaints about the cord length, fortunately, I already had an extension so that solved it! Very satisfied with it.
Only complaint so far is: BE CAREFUL of when you empty it or messing with it in a rugged manner. I dunno what I was doing...but I wasn't paying attention...MEANT to turn the vacuum off, but instead pressed the knob to empty it and out went the dirt all over the floor, lol. (Yeah, whoever designed this thing shouldn't have placed these things so close together...but really I am the retarded one). Another tip is...when you ARE ready to empty it (it's small, so probably every vacuum), do it right next to the trash can. Don't expect to open it up whereever you are and then walk it over to the trash can (short cord, remember?)...chances are there will be at least a lil mess. I love it..but not the best vacuum for the type of person who hates to touch dirt (I was going to wash my hands anyway so....)
Customer Review: Great Aternate! Summary: 4 Stars
I would definitely recommend this item for a second vacuum in the home. It's great just to do a quick clean up without taking out the larger vacuum. I use it every night after dinner to clean the kitchen floor instead of sweeping; it is also great for getting the dust under the beds. It easily picks up hair and dust (which is what I needed it for), but it does not easily pick up larger object (you'd have to place the vacuum over the item for it pick up.) I'd describe it as a dust-buster on a stick, actually that's exactly what it is. So for the same reasons you would use a dust-buster, you could use this with just a whole lot less bending. I love it & it gets the job done quickly & easily without a mess. The head is thin & gets into all the corners, under the couches, chairs around the toilet etc. It's compact, light & has great suction. I would recommend emptying it over a garbage can to prevent the dust from getting all over. I just got another one for my mom & she loves it. Again, great second vac & for the price it's worth it.
Customer Review: Great for Everyday Messes Summary: 5 Stars
I've had the previous model (the 3 in 1) for about 3 years and LOVE IT!!
It's wonderful for picking up our little messes-the floor brush attachment is wonderful for tracking down dust bunnies and I just pull it off and use the handvac with a handle for the bigger stuff (we get A LOT of cheerios in the weirdest places).
Downside: It's Corded but for less than a cordless vaccum (that doesn't convert to a handheld) I got the Sweeper and an extension cord... After going through 3 cordless vaccums in 3 years (None of them seem to retain a charge after about 10 mos or so) I was Happy to go back to the cord and get the job done.
If you want a Vaccum, get one-this one won't handle big messes (I saw someone tried to pick up dog food in another review-this is not the purpose of this vac!!). For the little stuff this little tough sweeper can't be beat!!
I can't reccommend it highly enough and if you have this you won't have to get out your big vac unless you have a big spill and to get a good deep clean once/ week or so.
