Tools and Hardware Reviews of BISSELL 3106A Featherweight Lightweight VacuumCustomer Review: Great little sweeper Summary: 5 Stars
I just received my Bissell today and was very anxious to use it. We have a new home and the entire first floor is hardwood. I have been using a swiffer, having to stop and change the cloth and vacuum the particles up, so I was happy to get a sweeper that vacuums. This little machine is great! I was amazed at how much it picked up, even getting the leaves the dog brings in from outside. It's small enough to fit into tight spots, and even slides under the couch. I highly recommend this especially at the price of under $20.
My only complaint is that the cord is too short. I had to stop and change it several times to get through the first floor. But, I simply attached an indoor extension cord and only had to change the cord twice. The extra lenght the extension cord gives is perfect, and the holders to wind the cord around on the Bissell are large enough to accomodate the added extension cord.
Overall, I am very pleased with this vacuum!
Customer Review: You get what you pay for Summary: 2 Stars
When you consider how much a broom costs, this is not a bad deal. However, the feather weight is very limited in what it can do and how much it can hold. After playing around with it for a few months, this is the plan of attack we've come up with. We leave it plugged-in in the living room, the wide nozzle is off and we use it about twice a day to pick up dog hair. We have a big dog and bare floors so it works well without the wide floor attachment. Cleaning out the canister is a nasty proposition, though. If it was just the dog hair, that would be one thing, but it picks up lots a dust, which ordinarily would be a plus, but the emptying process usually means another cleanup at best, or a face full of dust at worst. I think I'd be happy to pay twice as much if it came with 100 cheapy little bags that could be thrown away if it meant a cleaner cleanup.
Also, the wide attachment is useless except for giving the vac a wider base to stand on.
Customer Review: Super little vacuum!! Summary: 5 Stars
I love, love LOVE this little vacuum! I have a lot of bare floors in my house, and I have dogs and cats. I use this little vacuum instead of the broom because it picks up more than my broom does! Lots of times I've emptied the dust cup and I couldn't believe how much dust and pet hair was in it, and it still had suction! This would be a great vacuum for anybody that can't "wrestle" with the bigger/heavier vacuums, like an elderly person, or even someone who doesn't have very much upper body strength. I like it so much that I have 2, one for upstairs and one for downstairs. The only dissappointment I have with it is the cord is not long enough, so I just connected the cord to an extension cord, and even with more cord length, it still wraps around the cord storage hooks on the back. I use it about every other day, and I've had them for about 5 or 6 years. I bought mine at WalMart for about $20.00 each. When they give out, I will definitely buy another.
Customer Review: Bissell Faetherweight Vacuum Summary: 4 Stars
I bought this vacuum to more easily clean the dog hair (from my 2 labs)that always accumulates beyond the area rugs on the wood floor & in other tight spaces between and under furniture.
For those areas on any hard floor surface it very efficiently picks up the hair & other light dirt. Although it does pick-up debris from carpeted areas, I would never depend on this to be my primary vacuum cleaner. I still vacuum my area rugs with a regular sized vacuum.
This vacuum does let me do light touch-ups without having to drag out the heavier version. My only complaints are, it would be nice if the cord was longer. I find that I have to plug and unplug it 3 times to reach all the areas in my little house. Also the clip that connects the handle to the vacuum does not hold. It clicks in place like it's going to hold, but after a few passes the two components come apart.I fixed it with a wide piece of packaging tape.
Customer Review: Does/is just what it says! Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this so I could loose the broom and dustpan right after we installed our tile laminate floor. We live in an area that is very sandy and rocks and sand get tracked in a lot. I remember reading very carefully all reviews on this and competing products before my purchase of this and the bare floor steam mop (which is great). I agree the cord is not long enough and I have found this won't suck up rocks UNLESS the filter is clean. However, if you keep your filter clean-not too tough since it is so lightweight and easy to access-you can suck up little rocks in between a grain of sand but probably smaller than a dime.
It is great for keeping stuff clean on a daily basis and zips right along on my floor with its little rollers.
I really like it and for the price, would do it again in a heartbeat. Yeah, it's basically a dustbuster on a stick, but it gets the job done and I don't have to bend over a dustpan!
