I used the Bissell 9400 Steam cleaner.
My review may not be fair because I cleaned a foyer carpeting that was really dirty...not cleaned in a year.
I did it 3X & did a clean HOT water only rinse also. It is alot cleaner buttttttt there is still dirt to be seen after it dried. Is this the way it should be on a stained carpet?? I don't know but I don't think so.
When I did the LR carpeting with the Bissell pet & orange shampoo, it came out super clean. I mixed them equally. Great results.
I will do the foyer again & mix all 3 shampoos...or maybe just two, than I will edit this review & tell you whats what.

Before I used this product along with my new purchased "Bissell 2080 Quick Steamer Powerbrush Lightweight Upright Deep Cleaner Carpet Cleanser", I thought my carpet was quite clean as I often vacuumed. I was WRONG!!! I was schocked when I first used this, to see how dirty the water got!!! After a couple of cleanings, the water did not get that dirty and I felt my carpet was almost brand new - even better than professional cleaning - clean & fluffy. Another good thing about this priduct is that it is earth-friendly formula which means it is gentler to human body as well. LOVE IT!!!Customer Review: I will only buy BISSELL Cleaners from now on...

I did a comparison with products. I bought Hoover cleaner because thats all Amazon had at that time. My son cleaned the carpeting with a vengence...he took alot of time. When it dried it looked terrable..almost like it was never done. Than I bought the Bissell 715A fiber cleansing Formula & mixed it with the Bissell Pet formula because of bad pet stains from my sons dog. My son cleaned the light Tourquoise carpeting 3X & one water rinse. It is beautiful!! I love it now.
I will stick with Bissell products from now on.

...but this worked great for me!! My dog has an infection on his front leg that stinks to high heavens when he pulls the bandage off. I never thought I'd get rid of the dog smell in the carpet from it, but Bissell's cleaner worked so good I was actually able to get on my hands and knees without smelling it at all! Wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't shampooed the carpet myself...Am going to get some more tomorrow and do my couches. Would highly recommend (and I have TWO dogs).Customer Review: 2 lousy bucks shipping

The person who wrote "17 bucks for shipping" was either mistaken, or the policy has been changed. With the $1.99 shipping and no tax, this product beats any store I know of in California (where we have sales tax).
This is just detergent. It makes dirty things cleaner, but won't give you x-ray vision. It works fine.
