Tools and Hardware Reviews of BISSELL Flip-!t Bare Floor Cleaner, 5200Customer Review: DO YOU READ THE INSTRUCTIONS???? Summary: 5 Stars
Flip it works great, cleans the floors, does everything it is supposed to do.
I almost didn't buy it because of the bad ratings. Most people do not read the instructions. If you empty the dirty water chamber when you are finished cleaning -<<<like you are supposed to do, duh!>>>- there is nothing to leak! If it takes you hours to mop a floor, and you let flip it sit by while you answer the phone, cook, and walk the dog, you will get leaks!
Fill it up, use it, empty it when done - PERFECT TOOL!!! No hassles at ALL. Even the vacuum works well, and I have a Dyson, so I know a good tool when I see one.
I use castile soap. When finished cleaning - I empty the dirty water container and put it back into the flip it. I have not had the soap dispenser leak on me, not ever, and I have left it filled. The dirty water chamber does leak if I don't empty it when finished.
I have had no problems at all. It been over a year and I still love this machine.
Customer Review: It ruined my floors! Summary: 1 Stars
I certainly hope nobody brushes this off as a disgruntled customer review. I'm not the type to complain about anything.
My wife and I received the Bissell as a wedding gift, and used it for the first time a month ago. After a few swipes back and forth, I realized it was scratching the floor! My red oak floor with deep scratches in it! We immediately called customer service, who told us to make an insurance claim with their department. We sent the machine in, they "inspected" it for over a month and they came back with this claim. "We don't believe our product could have caused this damage." Well it did! My floor is ruined! After an estimate from a hardwood floor specialist, it is going to cost me $962 to repair my floor, and Bissell won't give me a dime! I beg of you, do not purchase this product. Bissell has caused so much damage, and I certainly don't have $1000 lying around to refinish my floor! Please save yourself the money and the hassle...buy something else or use a mop and bucket.
Customer Review: Wow is all I can say Summary: 5 Stars
I love this machine! It was so easy to put together and I had to try it out right away. Put in some cleaner and water and you're ready to go. First I used the dry vacuum side to pick up crumbs, etc. After that I turned it around and used the wet side to wash (and semi-dry) the floor.
The dirtiest spot was near the dog's dish (he's a real messy eater). The flip it cleaned it with ease. I was in control of the amount of water applied to the floor through the trigger on the handle. I used the brushes to clean my tile & linoleum floors, and then put in the soft pad to wash my laminate. The pad/brush is very easy to change and you can throw the pad right in the washer. The dirt tank is easy to empty. I would suggest emptying it out after dry vacuuming before you wet clean, otherwise the tank can get a little gummed up when mixing the dry dirt & dirty water. The cleaners that comes with it smell really good, but it is a small bottle, so you may want to get some bigger bottles right away.
Customer Review: Comparable to Hoover Floor Mate Summary: 3 Stars
I currently own the Bissell. I switched to it several years ago when I did not feel that the spinning brushes of my Hoover Floor Mate were doing a good enough job cleaning the irregularly textured surface of my vinyl kitchen floor because the bristles were very short. The brush attachment for the Bissell is sturdy and the bristles are long enough to clean textured floor surface well. I have had the Bissell over 4 years and it is sturdy and well-made. There are 2 draw-backs to it: First, it is much more difficult to push across the floor than the Hoover Floor Mate was; Second, it does not have as much suction as the Floor Mate did, so it does not pick up as much of the dirty water. The Floor Mate would almost dry the floor when properly used. My opinion is if you have a heavily textured ceramic, stone, or vinyl floor, get the Bissell. If you have a fairly smooth floor, get the Hoover Floor Mate because it has so much better suction. Both models are easy to empty and filters are easy to replace.
Customer Review: A Piece of Junk! Summary: 1 Stars
I have always associated the name "Bissell" with quality--but the Bissell 5200Z Flip-it Hard Floor Vacuum Cleaner is a worthless piece of junk!
1) The motor has virtually no sunction. (I can go over the same floor area and pick up additional dust and debris using my dust mop, broom, or Swivel Sweeper.)
2) It's not easy to maneuver around furniture or corners.
3) It's noisy.
4) The filter becomes easily clogged. I usually have to stop after each room and clean it.
5) It cannot be used to vacuum under furniture or to pick up lint on lightweight throw rugs (see No. 8 for the reason).
6) It easily falls over if you do not stand it up just right.
7) The brush does not rotate.
8) The squeege (on the wet side) interferes with the back and forth movement while dry vacuuming.
9) It's as heavy as my Orek.
The only positive: The Bissell 5200Z Flip-it Hard Floor Vacuum Cleaner is easy to assemble.
