Tools and Hardware Reviews of BISSELL Little Green Multi-Purpose Compact Deep Cleaner, 1400-7

Customer Review: Fantastic buy
Summary: 4 Stars

I spent a week researching carpet cleaning products to clean up our pet's messes and finally settled on this product. I couldn't be happier with the purchase. Assembly was ridiculously easy. The machine was so simple to use I wanted to clean the entire carpet in our condo. I was amazed at how well the suction worked, how easy it was to empty and clean the canisters, and how wonderful the carpet looked after the spots were cleaned. I used the pet stain and odor solution to clean up a few messes our sick cat made. I believe I could easily clean all our carpets with this awesome little bugger. The handle simplifies carrying and the little green is incredibly light even when the tanks are full with water and solution. I'm thrilled to have this in our home and look forward to cleaning up the rest of the place. You won't be disappointed by this product. (It's also environmentally friendly, which was part of the appeal for me. Good for the environment too!)

Customer Review: DO NOT BY THIS PRODUCT
Summary: 1 Stars

I'll keep it simple the Bissell Little Green Multi-Purpose Compact Earth-Friendly Deep Cleaner, 1400-7 leaks. It leaks everything you clean up back on to your carpet. Lets say one of your kids steps in dog waste and tracks it in the house. You use the Bissell Little Green Multi-Purpose Compact Earth-Friendly Deep Cleaner, 1400-7 and that dogs waste is back on the floor. If you call them you get routed to INDIA and they spend 20 minutes taking your information because they get paid by the minute. The net is they are going to tell you to take it to a service center. Why would I take a new product I just bought and get it fixed by someone? New productS are supposed to work. Bissell knows very well that this is an issue, but their call center acts like they have never heard of this problem...REALLY GOOGLE IT.

AGAIN DON'T BOTHER WITH THIS PRODUCT BY SOMETHING THAT WORKS AND FROM A COMPANY THAT STANDS BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS.

Customer Review: Extremely effective for small areas
Summary: 5 Stars

For a whole carpet cleaning, you need a different beast. But for small areas, I even removed stains that the professionals couldn't lift. Some reviewers have complained of leaks as well as odors building up. I think both of these can be completely avoided with a bit of care in cleaning up the machine after you use it. It is important to bring it to the sink or tub and vacuum up some clean water to rinse the hose and nozzle, then lift the nozzle high to let as much water as possible get sucked into the tank. Next, remove the tank and rinse it thoroughly from the top and bottom, partially filling and shaking while covering the top. There is a removable black rubber insert at the bottom that can be removed and rinsed separately. Let everything dry thoroughly before you put the tank back on the cleaner. That's all the maintenance that it takes to keep it leak- and odor-free. Naturally, if you leave it dirty and moist, bacteria will take over.

Customer Review: Where have you been all my life :)
Summary: 5 Stars

I was one to rent those huge, heavy machines from the hardware store. I'd pay too much money and break my back cleaning everything but when I was done I would feel as though I really accomplished something, until the fabric dried, then sometimes a stain would come back but I'd say that it is a clean stain and mark it off as a character flaw. As it turns out, I will never rent one of those machines again. My green machine is so light and easy to use that I can use it anytime, I don't have to schedule a day off... the solution is not outrageously expensive.... and the stain doesn't come back. Unlike some of the reviews I read, I have a nice wide spray and the vacuum actually gets up most of the fluid, reducing drying time. I probably wouldn't attempt an entire carpet with it but I am able to keep up with stains as they occur. I don't have enough thumbs to express how I really feel about my fabulous little machine... two thumbs up :)

Customer Review: MESSY AND RATHER POINTLESS
Summary: 1 Stars

By the time I finished using Bissell's Little Green carpet cleaning machine, I realized it would have taken less time if I'd just taken an old toothbrush, a bottle of spot cleaner, and scrubbed the stains out. That would have saved me the fifteen extra minutes it took to empty and clean the water tanks, the nozzle, and the cleaning head. I could have used old towels to blot the damp carpet, which is what I ended up doing, anyway, because Little Green is little help sucking up the water left in the rug. The spray of cleaning solution shoots in two different directions. [Very funny, Bissell.] I'm still wondering what the "Heater" is for, because it sure didn't facilitate drying and the water didn't stay warm for very long. Lastly, I'd have forgiven all of that if it had delivered an impressive cleaning; it didn't. With the mixing, the messy water tanks, the scrubbing, and the additional clean-up, I have to wonder what was the point.
