Tools and Hardware Reviews of BISSELL Little Green Multi-Purpose Compact Deep Cleaner, 1400-7

Customer Review: love love love it!
Summary: 5 Stars

I got my little green after I moved into a new apartment and my toddler started becoming more wild and started spilling more. I brought it home and within 10 minutes I was using it to pick up stains in the higher traffic areas of my apartment and where things had been spilled. The assembly took me maybe 5 minutes (I had a problem with the screw you have to put in)The sprayer sprats a pretty wide area of the solution, but I just figure that its a little bit more of space cleaned. For the people that say they want the solution to concentrate on the stain, it says in the packaging how to pre-treat the area I believe. Its small enough to put on the top shelf in my closet when im not using it and is light weight even when its full of solution. Perfect for apartment use. I now have a dog too and its easy to use for those little accidents to get them cleaned up really quick. It's easy to use and im not going to lie, I think its pretty fun!

Customer Review: Hard to Clean
Summary: 1 Stars

The dirty water tank and hose are impossible to clean inside. Even if you rinse it out everytime, residue will still accumulate and start to smell. I suck up some clean water to cycle through the hose after using it, but it is just impossible to clean the entire length of hose and all around inside it. The tank curves, so a bottle brush will not reach it and the opening is so small hardly anything will fit in there. A tooth brush will not fit. Sooo... after awhile it will start to SMELL FUNKY. Then when you spray out clean water, a bad odor comes out. It will smell like you are using dirty water. If you call customer service they will spend most of the time collecting your personal info before they let you in on the secret to cleaning it which is rinse it out with tap water. Like I haven't been rinsing it out with everything under the sun. And yes, like the other reviewer stated, you are in fact routed to India.

Customer Review: Every child should come standard with one
Summary: 5 Stars

I have two children: Chaos (4 1/2 years old) and Pandemonium (19 months). In the last two weeks, I have successfully cleaned vomit out of the carpet and just now I actually got RASPBERRIES out of the carpet. Yes, that's right. My two children had a raspberry fight in the living room (you know, the living room with the WHITE carpet in the RENTED condo). This thing is AMAZING. Still didn't quell my complete heart attack after I got off the phone and discovered their latest "sibling bonding" escapade but at least their Papa will be none the wiser when he gets home from work. I also use this steam cleaner on my microfiber sofa (which will show a water mark - that sofa was one of my worst purchases).

If you have kids and carpet (or thought a microfiber sofa would be a wise purchase), you NEED this machine.

LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT definitely RECOMMEND IT RECOMMEND IT RECOMMEND IT!!!!

Customer Review: Kudos to Bissell
Summary: 5 Stars

I've owned the slightly earlier, essentially-the-same Model 1400 Little Green Machine for several years. We have had six cats while the machine has been here, three of them longhairs, with their tendency to throw up hairballs at times. An old cat has occasional problems with his digestion and rubs his rear on the carpets. The Bissell Little Green has worked VERY hard for us over the years and has never let us down. It's looking kind of beat-up now, and some of the plastic parts do show some wear. But it still works, it still runs, and when it finally goes the way of all machines, I'll be very happy to buy the current model 1400B...or whatever model they're selling, then!

It's also, as others have noted, an EXCELLENT upholstery cleaner, for both home and car. In the car, it is incredible how much dirt it pulls out of cloth seats that LOOKED clean.

KUDOS to Bissell!

Customer Review: It bio-degrades while you watch
Summary: 1 Stars

I've had the 1400-7 model about 6 months. Used it a few times in my car. The size seemed great for that. It's probably been used 6 times. I tried to use it today, but it wouldn't spray. Couldn't find anything on the internet relative to a spray problem, and since I figured it was "out of warranty", I thought I'd investigate myself. (it's held together with about a 1/2 dozen philips screws. Bottom line, the spray motor had leaked where it couples to the delivery hose fitting(s), which had completely rusted the bottom of the motor causing failure. Seems to be a quickly disposable unit to me. (The manufacturer seems to relish in the fact it's made of bio-degradable materials - apparently they bio-degrade while you watch). Considering what I paid for it, I guess the average cost of ownership is about $12 per use. That seems a little steep to me, I wouldn't recommend it at all.
