I've had this for about two months. One of my cats is a long hair cat who has injured a groomer while trying to keep her fur under control. So now she has a lot of hairballs and I don't like carpet stains. A long time ago I had a big stand-up carpet cleaner. It was a huge hassle, but got the floor clean very well.
The Little Green takes a bit of elbow grease (you need to scrub after getting the area wet -- as opposed to the one that you just sit down and push a button), but it definitely has worked well every time it's been used (about 8 times in 2 months). I haven't had any leaking or any issues with it. For the price and ease of use, it's definitely great compared to having to do it all by hand with a scrubber and also great compared to using a big old carpet cleaner.
Definitely a good tool for small pet stains (that's all I've had to clean up thus far).
Customer Review: Sprays too much water and suction isn't strong enough.

I purchased this machine after breaking a piece on my other little green machine. It was an older version. LOVED IT! Two problems with this machine...The sprayer sprays a path at least 3 times possibly 4 times wider than the vacuum head and the suction isn't strong enough. After 2 full containers of water (to the proper line limit) there was only about an inch of water/sludge/dirt in the return section. It needs more suction power so that it doesn't leave the area so wet. I mean it leaves it VERY wet. I ended up using my Dyson, yes, I know, it's not a wet vac. I used it anyway, to suck up some of the excess water. I didn't want it to mildew from being so wet.
On the positive side, the water that it did suck up was indeed very dirty and I didn't even think the area was dirty!
I probably should have only given it 2 stars but I can't change it now.

I read a lot of the reviews before deciding to buy this, knowing that I might be taking it back. I got it home, set it up and went to work on the same dirty areas of carpet that I was working on this morning with a spray cleaner and damp cloth. It cleaned all the areas and left them just as clean (and as damp) as when I've hired professional cleaners to come. I have a white wool berber carpet that gets a lot of traffic and it looks clean now. I went through of the first tank water with the trial soap and filled up again with plain hot water and it still cleaned really well without the soap.
In regard to it spraying too much, it does spray wide but you are always controlling how much it sprays so you can stop spraying at anytime. I haven't tried it on my upholstery yet I could see how the water might be a problem there, but for my carpet it's going to be great!

I recently got new carpets. I ordered the Bissell before they were even installed to ensure that I could keep them looking new if there were any accidents. I have an old cat who loves to vomit and use the carpet as toilet paper. I used to use a pet odor&stain remover spray and a sponge. It never fully got out the stain. This carpet cleaner was great. It is the perfect size so it is very portable. It is so easy to use. You can prefill the machine so it is ready for any accidents. When something needs to be cleaned up, all you have to do is turn on the machine and remove the stain. It completely removed all the accidents. When finished, just empty the side that has the dirty water and you are ready for the next time something happens. The carpets even smell great after you are done. This is one of the best purchases I have made. I would highly recommend this product.Customer Review: Thanks the heavens

My husband, albiet not from here, picked up this little gem after calling him and relaying that our son dumped the entire contents of a chocolate syrup bottle on his bedroom carpet. Home he came with this bissell. Only one they had at the store.
Assembly in two seconds, I kid you not. Didn't even need to look at the instructions. put in the cleaning solution, filled reservoir with water, set it down, plugged it in. Now, mind you, it took me about ten minutes, with a few minutes between each go, this syrup was well and good in the carpet, but I am deeply impressed. Throughly impressed. It's very light, even filled, it's compact, fits real nicely into our cleaning closet, and super easy to use. For the price we paid, it's paid for itself halfway with just the one room, compared to getting our carpets steam cleaned every few months. I would happily buy again.
