Customer Review: Classic example of an oxymoron: "PowerRoller (floor) brush"
Summary: 3 Stars

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
A roller is a roller; a brush is a brush. A roller "rolls" over the surface; a brush scrubs. Duh! To compare the PowerRoller (I WILL NOT CALL IT A BRUSH) to a standard carpet cleaner -- my Hoover SteamVac, for example -- is (and here comes a classic example of a cliché) like comparing oranges and apples.

This, however, is NOT saying it will not clean a carpet. It just won't scrub a carpet. Think of using a damp cleaning rag to rub over a fresh spill. It may be enough in that situation, but it probably won't be enough for a deeper, older stain.

The ideal consumer for this product is someone who has several precious oriental area rugs who wants to KEEP them clean without inflicting additional wear and tear in the process. If that applies to you, I HIGHLY recomment this machine. (And YOU can probably afford the somewhat high purchase price.)

I don't have oriental rugs; I have three little dogs. But I also have two floors of carpeted stairs, and that justifies my appreciation for the ease of using the accessories. In addition, the Oxy Gen 2 Power Tool is great for the occasional doggie stain.

I have to laugh at the "replace the roller in six months" admonition. Six months is my average between carpet cleanings, but then I don't have little ones running in and out.

This machine won't fit everyone's needs. Its advantages and disadvantages are extremely specific. Buy or don't buy accordingly.

Customer Review: Modern, compact, stylish, easy to use

Bissell's PROdry Fast Drying Carpet Cleaner

Modern, compact, stylish, easy to use (practically) straight out of the box. Put the soap in and then fill the Clean Solution tank to the fill line worked best for me, although the instructions say to fill the tank to the fill line and then add the soap -- when I did it that way, there wasn't enough room for the soap and it overflowed.

After all's said and done, you now have a lean, mean, carpet cleaning machine with oversized wheels. Watch out for that floating thing (mentioned in the instructions -- Take Care to notice the way the machine floats forward)...this machine actually takes off, right out of the gate, on its own and will need a little getting used to and a bit of muscle and stamina on your part.

for this review, I cleaned a very long hallway with 6 years of memories trampled into the carpet, but, because of the ease of use of this machine, ended up cleaning an exercise room and a computer room before quitting. Wow! what a workout! Vacuum First, for best results. PROdry Fast Drying Carpet Cleaner does everything it says, on the box. No problems, and the used water was dirty, though the carpets looked fairly clean. The carpet was dry in less than 30 minutes! What a Plus! Comes with an array of tools for corners and upholstery, and an extra long hose for reaching up staircases and in tight areas like closets etc. Impressive! --Katharena Eiermann, 2009

Customer Review: Bigger isn't necessarily better

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
I was intrigued to try out this carpet cleaner from Bissell and compare it to my Bissell 1200A SpotBot Deep Cleaner, Blue Illusion. I assumed that the larger size of this unit would equate to superior cleaning power. Interestingly, I haven't found that to be the case.

First off, let me say that the 7350 is easy to set up and use. If you can operate a vacuum you should have no problem with this unit.

One of the weaknesses of the SpotBot is that it does such a good job on the circles it cleans that the final appearance can be one of clean polka-dots in the dirty carpet. The 7350 doesn't suffer from that issue, but it doesn't seem to clean as effectively as the SpotBot.

The hand tools are pretty much the same on both units and both work very well. I prefer the SpotBot for hand cleaning, however, due to its smaller size.

After using the 7350 my carpet is cleaner, but it doesn't blow me away. At twice the price of the SpotBot, I don't think it's the best value. Bigger isn't always better, it seems.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
One of the most aggravating aspects of carpet cleaning is the time it takes for carpet to dry. We've had carpet cleaners in the past which were difficult to use and not worth the time or trouble.

Of course, when it comes to carpet cleaning my preference is to use a home carpet cleaner most of the time and hire a professional once or twice a year. In today's economy, the Bissell 7350 Fast-Drying Carpet Cleaner could be cost-effective and we got through the worst winter weather, including tracked in mud, salt and ice by using this. Directions were clear and it was certainly powerful enough.

A couple of tips to get the most from this, common sense tips. Make sure you do a quick vacuum of your carpet and make sure no coins, rubber bands or other large items are left out. Consider using the Bissell shampoo to spot clean or pre treat stubborn areas. Then let the carpet cleaner do its job and you should be fine.

I also want to note that our home is not fully carpeted so this works well for us (3 -4 people, carpeted stairs, hallway and 2 bedrooms) For larger homes, it might not be enough. I'm delighted with this!

Customer Review: Great for floors but not on carpet
Summary: 2 Stars

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
I was a bit disappointed by this product. The fast drying is accomplished through a spinning roller brush that resembles a roller paintbrush. The cleaning solution is sprayed onto this brush rather than directly onto the carpet, hence a faster drying time. This inherently prevents a good deep cleaning of your carpet. I have berber carpets and I can honestly say that I noticed absolutely no difference after I had cleaned with the Bissell. When I used the hand tool attachments, this was a different story. The carpet came out very clean and it made a huge difference. The major drawback in this was that I had to get on my hands and knees. After about a few feet of carpet I gave up. I have not tried it on any furniture, but since it utilizes the tool attachment, I expect it to do a decent job.

In regards to floors this unit does a wonderful job without spraying excess cleaning solution everywhere.

My recommendation is to save your money and rent a rug doctor from your hardware store or supermarket. It will save you a lot more time in the long run.
