I am in between with this product. Bissell normally makes excellent products but this one is just so-so. I have hardwood floors in my home but the majority of my home has carpet. Unlike the description (carpet cleaner), machine works better on hardwood floors. When i tried to use the machine on the rest of the house, the machine was just sub par on carpets. I haven't tried on rugs yet. So if you have a house that is majority hardwood floors i would highly recommend this one.Customer Review: What a waste of Money!

We bought this because we have 3 kids and a new puppy and well they make messes! Needless to say IT DOES NOT WORK. The attachments do work some if you get down and scrub at whatever stain you are trying to lift for about 20 minutes or longer, and I'm not talking about OLD stains that have set in, I'm talking about something that was spilled and cleaned up instantly with this machine. The main machine does nothing. I poured WATER on the carpet to see what it would do, and 20 minutes later and about 100 passes over it and the water mark was still there and the floor was wet.
This was a waste of $179.99 and I'm a bit dissapointed by Bissell as their products are usually better than this!!!

I love this machine! It doesn't over-wet my carpet, it's gentle on the carpet fibers, and it leaves everything smelling fresh and clean. I finished my whole house in less than an hour, and the carpets were dry in 30 minutes as it claims! My carpet is about 2 years old. We have light foot traffic and no pets allowed in the house, so this cleaner was perfect for us. Carpet manufacturers suggest not getting carpets too wet when cleaning as it can cause mold and mildew in the pad beneath. Also most carpet cleaning machines pull too much on the carpet fibers, causing them to fuzz up, damaging your carpet. So, I would highly recommend this great machine. The salesman was so good at his job, I was sure I was getting a real carpet cleaning machine...for less. Should have paid attention to the price...and even then, it wasn't worth it! This was like dusting my carpet with a paint roller! The Bissel shampoo barely has time to get to the carpet before it is sucked back in, almost clean. We used the scrub tools to do a better job. The little one, if it were bigger, did a much better job of going in, picking up the dirt and sucking it up! Where can I find that tool, full size?
Let's just say, it's going back to the store!

What a waste of money. The PROdry was easy to use; but after cleaning my living room carpet which had only been spot cleaned in about the last 3 years, the water was barely dirty. It should have been filthy. Even after several passes over each area, I couldn't tell that it did anything. They do recommend using a separate pre-treatment before cleaning traffic areas; but after reading that the roller needs replacing after 6 months and costs $20, I can't see spending anything else on this machine. I hope I'll be able to return it.
