I was expecting this Bissell Carpet Cleaner to have brushes to 'scrub' the carpet. Instead it uses hot water to dispense cleaning fluid onto a SPONGE and this is supposed to clean your carpet. A very expensive "sponge on a handle"!
I suppose that is why the bottom of the carpet cleaner did not display on the catalog site.........Very disappointed!

Although I am usually a huge fan of Bissell, they really missed the mark with this machine. After using this machine, you will find that your carpets are just as dirty as when you started!!! Spend the extra money and buy the Bissell Proheat! This machine just tickles the carpet a little, but certainly does not clean it!!!Customer Review: Pretty much useless

Couldn't even find a niche use for it. Area rug cleaning was weak at best. Stair attachment is good at splattering liquid around, but little else. In spite of finding it on sale for 1/3 of retail, it still isn't worth the cost. Honestly, it created more work cleaning up splattered liquid. Terrible product.Customer Review: Don't waste your money

Did not clean the carpets at all. Does dry quick, but if the carpet is not clean you have wasted your time.
This unit did not work the second time I used it. Called the company and they had me take it apart and fix it while on the phone.
It's a piece of junk. Don't waste your money.

I had shopped around for a carpet cleaner. This one is good for the money. I used it and it does just as it says, dries in about 30 minutes. I thought the cleaning could have been a little better but going to try it again with different cleaner to see if that will help. But overall, I am pleased with it.
