SUmmary: An amazing product IF YOU FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS.
my husband and i live in an apartment with our two cats.
one of our our cats became seriously ill (diabetes complications) and made various bio-messes ALL OVER our apartment. we were certain we would have to replace our carpet.
We were recommended this product by cat-loving friends of ours, and have been in love with it ever since.
it is VERY easy to use **( AS LONG AS YOU READ THE DIRECTIONS FIRST)** and completely cleaned the messes from our carpet, eliminating the odor and repeat marking issues we were having. the attachments are wonderful for little messes and it the upright cleaner can power through a whole room on one tank of water (depending on the dirtiness of the carpet, of course).
We have since moved to a new apartment and are still using our steamer to keep down on our allergy problems (pet dander, pollen, dust).
We had some trials and tribulations in teh begining, but the online support and the owners manual were instrumental in the use of our product. IT IS NOT LIKE A VACUUM, you cannot just plug it in and go. Take the time to read the instructions, and I believe you will also be pleased.

After owning this for less than a year during which time the main reservoir broke twice within the first month of ownership and was replaced by Bissell...and after using it a total of four times on an 8'x12' rug and three times for a 12.5'x16' room that is 70% covered by furniture the brushes have stopped rotating and the cleaner has simultaneously stopped vacuuming up wastewater.
I cannot use publicly-acceptable language to express how angry and frustrated I am with this garbage. Bissell's "Customer Support" is a total joke as is the phony "Warranty." If something breaks they demand that YOU prove it was defective and refuse to offer any solution "...unless you can prove that the part in question was the result of defective design." So you have to hire an engineering consulting firm and litigate (at your own expense, of course) to prove they screwed up the design to get warranty support?!?
Looking at the other reviews it almost seems like a class-action lawsuit against Bissell for manufacturing, selling, and continuing to manufacture a device they MUST know to be complete junk would be in order. Amazon should remove this from their sales lists.

Since my 14 month old Bissell cleaner doesn't work anymore, I borrowed this one from my mother-in-law. She had just purchased this machine in June and used it one time. I cleaned one room with it & noticed that the cleaner tank was still full of solution. So I removed it, cleaned it, wiggled it around & tried it again. Still no cleaner was being dispensed. I called the Bissell customer support number. After 25 minutes, it was determined that the machine is faulty and i would need to take it to a service center for repair. The closest one is 65 miles away. I told the customer rep that that is unacceptable. The machine is pretty much still brand new and I'm not wasting my time to take it to have it repaired. He came back on the phone and said they are going to send me authorization to return the machine to Bissell and they will send a new one. I have a large finished basement where my children and one of my cats hang out a lot, and they make the sort of messes one would anticipate. We vacuum the carpet frequently, and I considered it a clean place. We had a Bissell Little Green Machine which we used for spills and cat accidents. It was ok for small spots, but it stopped working recently. When I went to replace it I realized that for just a little more than twice the money I could buy with Bissell's top of the line upright.
I used the 94003 for the first time this morning, and all I can say is: I am embarrassed at how much cat hair it picked up! Big large disgusting clumps. I had no idea.
The unit works fine, and is easy to fill and clean - in fact, it seems easier to clean than the LGM it replaced.
As to how it stacks up to other machines, I have no idea. However, the 94003 exceeds my expectations. It came with a lot of accessories that I am sure we will never use. You can assemble it out of the box in about five minutes with a Phillips screwdriver.

I have owned this cleaner for quite a while, it was a replacement for a Hoover, that was a replacement for another Hoover, and so on. This machine, when used properly cleans very well. I have four inside dogs and we have alot of dog hair and sometimes accidents on the carpets and rugs. I use the Pet Stain and Odor cleaner with the machine and it works great. I love the heated feature and also love the drying feature. Great attachments for cleaning upholstery small places etc., good on stairs. I have had pro's clean my carpets and did not do a better job than this machine.
Pros: Cleans really well, not expensive, easy to push,
Cons: Leaves some pilling (if you have pet hair) so you have to pick up the hair balls, won't fit in the machine, also, is a little hassle emptying the tank so often but they are all that way regardless.
I will keep buying this brand as long as they make them because I have tried many others and this one works better than they did.
