Customer Review: Bissell Quicksteamer Powerbrush II - A Great Deal *****
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this Lightweight Carpet Cleaner with the hope of cleaning room by room of my home over time so that I wouldn't have to pay Professional Carpet Cleaners to come in once a year to clean my carpets. We recently added an "indoor" puppy to our family too, so our carpets were really taking a beating. Both my husband and I are thoroughly impressed with the Bissell 2080. We knew buying a Bissell was a good decision, but we were a little skeptical that we might should have bought a more heavy duty cleaner, but every penny counts in our household. Using the 2080 to clean a room at a time per weekend is working GREAT! We did find that the sprayer didn't meet our needs (puppy spots) - but we took the Bissell cleaning fluid, put it in a spray bottle, then sprayed everything! By the time we were finished spraying, we were ready to use the Powerbrush to run over the stains, scrub the solution and vacuum it up! The carpet looks like new -- which is an accomplishment because we're a family of 5 and that doesn't include our 2 mature dogs and our puppy! I would definitely recommend this cleaner to anyone that needs to watch their budget but also wants a really good cleaning job!
Oh, one last thing, I read this in reviews before I purchased the 2080 and it is SO true -- when you are vacuuming the cleaner out of the rug, GO SLOW!! If you go slow, you'll vacuum up the maximum amount of liquid and your carpet will dry super quick! Good luck!

Customer Review: Stinky,leaky mess
Summary: 2 Stars

I've had this thing one year and I have to say I really think it's a cheap piece of garbage.
Plastic pieces have broken off, and now the 'squirter' to get the water/soap onto the carpet doesn't function. It is an unholy mess to clean out the dirty water collecter, and frankly it doesn't do that hot a job. You have to stop countless times to refill the water/soap container to finish the job. And you have to spend enormous amounts of time cleaning the collected gunk out of the brushes, and space where the vacuum meets the carpets and picks up the dirty water. It is not a steam cleaner and it bugs the hell out of me that they say it is. At most it is tepid/warm water that you will be using. And even if you use up all that tepid water, and run the machine across the carpet until it seems it is completely empty of water, you will still find that machine sitting in a smelly little puddle of water the next time you go to use it. Basically all the power in the machine comes from the degree to which you are able to bear going over and over and over a spot to vacuum up the water and beat the carpet with the brushes with your back and forth motion. And the degree to which your carpets smell fresh and clean depends on the fragrance in your Bissell-brand carpet soap - which is the only type you're supposed to use. I wish I had all wood floors, but barring that I wish I had gone for a better made, higher price model.

Customer Review: Great Bang for your buck!
Summary: 5 Stars

First things first. I spent 80 bux for this shipped! Great price...I can tell you that after spending countless hours on my knees with a Spotbot, this bissel "light weight" carpet cleaner works very well.(way better than i expected for such a low price) This unit is NOT designed to do a whole house but rather trouble areas. I've got two small male dogs that are not 100% potty trained. That said, i'm always finding new spots to clean up. The trick here is to use a Good pet-stain pre-treater & let it soak for a few minutes before cleaning(stain will change colors to a more clear state). Also don't overly soak the carpet when running the cleaner. You will, through the drying process draw up "extra" unwanted stains from the carpet pad if you soak it too much. If the spot reappears after drying...go over it again but with less solution. This way whats left in the pad will not leach up into the visable fibers. I use HOT tap water & cut back on cleaning solution in the fresh water tank(because i pre-treat).

CONS: This cleaner uses NO steam(misleading advertizing)! No way to quickly clean the brush spinning brush area without a screwdriver to take it apart. Also the waste water container can be hard to rinse out due to all the little compartments & passageways in it. Lastly make sure you put it back together correctly...cause it won't work worth a dam if you don't.

For me...80 BUX WELL SPENT!

Customer Review: Good, but not great...
Summary: 3 Stars

I like this quicksteamer, every time I empty the tank, its dirty and it picks up plenty of pet hair, dirt, and debris. The cleaning solution works very well and can be bought infused with different scents. The carpet doesn't take too long to dry (about and hour and a half on average) and the unit itself is lightweight and easy to control. However, it does have it's fair share of cons too. When the dirty water tank needs too be removed, it must be held perfectly level, because there are two holes, one on the top and one on the side. this design flaw sometimes creates a mess on the rug you just cleaned. Two, as other reviewers pointed out, it is not a "steamer"; no steam is created and the water that comes out is only as hot/warm as the water you placed in the tank. Three, the water tank is small, and if you hold down the trigger as often as I do, you'll be refilling it 5 or 6 times for a 14 x 14 room, which can get annoying. Last, the belt and the motor that moves it is VERY cheap and it affects the spinning of the brush which essentially cleans the carpet. The belt is stretched easily and the motor which spins the belt is not securely in place, which affects the speed/strength of the rotating brush. It cleans better than a vacuum, but less then a real carpet cleaner. Not a replacement for regular professional carpet cleaners.

Customer Review: Great steam cleaner for my carpet!
Summary: 4 Stars

I love this machine! I had it for some months now, & the several times I have used it, I have not been disappointed at the results. I have a 10 year old and a one year old ("stain masters"), trust me they put both my vacuum cleaners to the test! I read the reviews previous to purchasing my Bissell Quick Steamer, and it took me some time before finally buying it. But I always tell myself that, "what works for some folks, doesn't work half as well for others". I purchased it and it works just fine. You have to see for yourself. I gave the product 4 stars instead of 5 because the only thing that is a bit bothersome is having to empty the dirty water tank when cleaning larger areas of my apartment. Other than that, its cleaning is great on my low pile carpeting. You have to take it SLOW with a steam vacuum cleaner (so you will need some free time). The filth, grit, hair and dirt this machine pulls up from the carpet is amazing. The dirty water tank tells the full story when you empty it out. Before purchasing this product I think folks should take into account the type of carpeting they have, and how large the flooring is. They may need a professional cleaning or a more powerful (more $$$) model. Also maybe their product was defected or returned prior (possibly). In any case this is a great vacuum and I am glad I made the purchase.
