Tools and Hardware Reviews of BISSELL Quicksteamer Powerbrush Lightweight Upright Deep Carpet Cleaner, 2080Customer Review: Very Lightweight and Convenient Summary: 4 Stars
I've read the reviews before purchasing this and it has met our expectations. My husband really likes it which is very uncommon. It doesn't seem to get the stains out completely but that's probably because the stains were already pretty much set in and I didn't really pre-treat it. We didn't think our carpet was that dirty considering we are pretty clean and the carpets are only about 6 months old---boy, were we wrong! You do have to go really slow and I would not recommend it for a big house--we live in a 1361 sq ft condo so it's not too bad. In order to get a really good clean, I think it will take about 2-21/2 hrs and about 4 hrs of dry time. We were really impressed with the fact that it didn't leave your carpet soaking wet---only slightly damp (which all depends on how thorough you are). The only downside about it is the cleaning which is a bit annoying--hard to get it completely cleaned and my husband hates cleaning out the powerbrush---that's why you need to vaccuum before using the deep cleaner. Otherwise, we highly recommend this product especially for the price---it's a really good deal and very easy to use. I am 6 months pregnant and have no problems using it since it is so lightweight. In fact, it is lighter than our vaccuum cleaner!
Customer Review: I'm ready to purchase my second Quicksteamer Summary: 5 Stars
I have owned this product for several years and have worn it out, it now leaks from the tank through the wheel and needs to be replaced. I think I lost a washer or something. It has more than paid for itself, I'm glad I can get the same model at the same price I paid before!
The only downside to this is that the rotating brush, while removable, is kind of a hassle to take apart, I only thoroughly clean it every third or fourth use. You can get in there with your fingers and paper towels to get the lint out - and if you have a dog that sheds you'll have to do it during the cleaning because it picks the hair up like crazy.
I still freak out at how much dirt it pulls out of my carpet even though I clean it often. It doesn't make the water any hotter than what you put in the tank so use really hot water - I also use powdered Oxyclean and Febreeze liquid in the tank to get up stains and make the room smell great. It's lightweight and easy to maneuver from place to place. I wish the cord was longer but since I have to stop often to empty the tank I can reposition the cord...I recommend this to anyone with a smaller home that doesn't get dirt tracked in that much. It has never met a stain it couldn't handle in my home. Enjoy!!
Customer Review: Not as sturdy or as powerful as I thought Summary: 3 Stars
It's been less than a year and after about 5th time cleaning the carpet, the brush stopped turning. I thought that maybe strings or threads have wound around the cylindrical brush but that was not the case.
It turns out to be a flimsy rubber belt that it uses to turn the brush. It has stretched to the point that it can no longer sit on the gear properly.
Granted that it only cost $4.00 for the belt but still it shouldn't go out as soon as it did.
Additionally, it's diffifult to completely clean out the waste tank if carpet fibers gets inside.
As far as cleaning goes, it does an OK job especially living here in the Island of Kauai where red dirt is readily everywhere and it's quite difficult to clean.
I gave it three stars only because it didn't do a good job of cleaning the red dirt off the carpets. Perhaps if you live in an area where the carpet doesn't get so soiled, this unit will work good for you.
Unfortunately, not in may case and I wound up purchasing another carpet cleaner.
To it's credit, it's light and easier to use on stairs than the hand held attachment that came with my new carpet cleaner. If only it did a better job of cleaning.
Customer Review: Great little machine Summary: 5 Stars
I've never owned a carpet cleaner before, but since having 2 children (19 months and 32 months) decided one was a must, package arrived yesterday, put it together today in about 5 minutes (3 screws, all you need is a phillips head screwdriver) Came with a bottle of cleaning fluid. used it this afternoon to clean our 8'x5' living room area rug, which I had held off on hand scrubbing the past week because I wanted to see how powerful this machine was. I'm am soooo impressed! First off, my kids have had a stomach bug and have spit up a few times on the rug, which I spot cleaned, but could still smell, they had bananas this morning, which were all over the rug, along with spilled milk, and week old ground in dried on pizza sauce and cheese. I did not pretreat the heavily dirty spots before use like the instructions said (because I forgot to buy the particular cleaner required for it) and am very pleased to say that inspite of that the machine got up EVERYTHING except the pizza cheese. It took only 1/2 a tank (about a quart) of water and about 20 minutes to do. Other than the remaining cheese the rug looks brand new again, and doesn't stink anymore! Another great thing, the tanks are easy to remove and replace without spilling.
Customer Review: Lightweight and easy to use Summary: 4 Stars
We have only area rugs and live in a 1250 square foot condo, so this is the perfect machine for us. I suspect that if you have a larger house, or lots of wall-to-wall carpet, you'll want to get a larger and more powerful machine, which is the reason I gave it only four stars.
I have one wool braided rug that was...well...filthy. I've gone over it several times, and each time it gets cleaner. Since I was on the verge of replacing it, I'm thrilled with the results and don't mind doing it more than once. The wool tended to soak up the water, but as has been mentioned in previous reviews, if you go slowly and don't overwet, it dries in a few hours. Using a fan helps, too.
The large area rug in our living room is synthetic. I just cleaned it two hours ago and it's bone dry already, and beautifully clean. Since it's a light color and had some grungy stains on it, I am very happy with the results.
It occurs to me that this would make a good second machine, if you already have a big, powerful, full-featured deep cleaner. You can store it with solution in the tank, so it could sit in a closet and be handy for spot cleaning and dealing with spills.
Over all, a great value.
