Tools and Hardware Reviews of BISSELL Remanufactured SpotBot Hands-Free Compact Deep Carpet Cleaner, 1200RCustomer Review: Worked Wonders Summary: 4 Stars
My husband and I brought this because we thought it would be great to clean up after our cats when they have a hair ball. We first tried it out on this spot that was in our cream colored carpet when we first moved into our apartment. We have been living here for a year and 3 months and it was there when we moved in an who knows how long before. When we moved in the carpets were cleaned. We know for a fact because we were let into the apartment and the carpets were wet. Well we decided to put this machine to the test on the spot the carpet cleaner could not get out and all I can say is WOW! The spot was a little bit bigger then where the circumference of the spot bot so it is like a before and after and you would not believe the difference. The part that got cleaned matches the rest of the carpet now. We haven't cleaned the other little part because we use it as proof when people ask if our Spot Bot works. People are amazed!
I only have 2 small complaints.
1. I almost wish they could make the area a little bit bigger that does the cleaning. Like the size of a dinner plate. I understand that this would probably make it more bulky but it just would be nice to have the area in which it cleans a bit bigger.
2. The solutions for it can be a little costly. Just have to shop around like you would with any other house hold cleaning products I guess.
Customer Review: Successfully attacked every carpet stain in the house! Summary: 5 Stars
I've had this for about a week, and I'm very impressed. I purchased this unit specifically (with a lot of hope and faith) to handle existing dirt stains in high traffic areas of the house. I began to clean some of what I considered the worst spots with the highest setting. After the 6 minute cycle time, the worst of what I had were almost totally cleaned. I give the "almost" because of the one caveat of this device: stains are typically unbecoming, but this unit creates "anti-stains". These are circular areas of very clean carpet that will immediately let you know just how dirty your whole carpet is as a whole, and may indicate to you that you will need multiple uses of the Spotbot, or that you may need to consider renting/hiring a professional cleaner! So after I dealt with the surrounding grime, I quickly found that even the surface stain (3 minute cycle) easily dealt with any dirt problems I had. I really like the fact that I can place it in position and walk away for a few minutes. The unit is noisy, but I don't consider this a problem seeing that I would only use it in specific circumstances and the benefits far outweigh the noise. I have used this unit around 40-50 times now with no leaks. As a refurbished unit, I find this affordable as well as reliable so far...
Customer Review: Where has this been all my pet-owning life???? Summary: 5 Stars
I rarely gush about an item-but this little machine is fantastic! I kept looking at them for about a year until I saw the remanufactured version on Amazon at a more reasonable price than I had seen elsewhere. First I was pleasantly surprised that they shipped me the "Pet" version of the Spot Bot. Is there a difference between the regular one and this one? I imagine just the color and the cool paw print sticker, but I dig it since they are the main reason for my purchase. I have 3 dogs and a cat. We live on a farm, so lets just say them hurling is an occurence that happens more often than not, and of course usually in the middle of the night when you least want to clean them up. My first test was a couple of stains set in the rugs when we bought the house-used the set in stain setting-and they were gone. Yes, it did leave the clean "crop circle" where the stain was, but I knew I needed to shampoo them anyway. Several nights later-you guessed it-at 4am Riley got ill. I cleaned up the "bulk" of I and just went back to bed trusting my new favorite helper would be successful in the morning. It was. The machine is loud, and the dogs hate the beep at the end of the cycle-but you won't regret the purchase!Does go through cleaner, but I don't care and you won't either...
Customer Review: Worth the money but bigger than I thought Summary: 4 Stars
I have a 19 year old cat and two 1 year old kittens. Between that and the dark frieze carpets that cover the whole second floor of my home, we have many puke spots that needed some serious help. If you scrub them with a brush, the carpet becomes frizzy and the spots noticeable. If you try to let them dry and vacuum them, it is difficult to get all of the crusty pieces off (how is that for appetizing!).
This worked well on plush and frieze carpet. It also worked on some throw rugs and fit perfectly on my stairs. I just filled up the container with water and solution, plunked it down and pressed Start. After 3-6 minutes, the spot was gone and we moved on to another. Although noisy, it was better than scrubbing with my own hands.
We have also used the hand held sprayer/scrubber on furniture and smaller spots. The vacuum hose was easy to use to suck up some remaining liquid. After a while, we even started to just use water on the more fresh stains and they came up quickly.
The photos didn't give me a clear idea of size, so I was surprised at how big it was once I saw it in person. Just DON'T forget to empty the dirty water. It is not pleasant 24 hours later. ICK!
Customer Review: Worked GREAT... for three months Summary: 2 Stars
As the titled states, this product worked amazing for the first three months, then it started to go down hill from there. After cleaning up a small pet mess, my girlfriend told me that the vacuum leaked out all of the cleaning solution. Curious, I filled the tank again, ran several tests and came up with nothing. A month later, as I was cleaning up after a sick cat, I noticed the solution tank was empty. When I lifted the unit, I noticed a circular wet mark on the carpet, nearly an entire tank's worth of solution waiting to be cleaned up. Filling the tank again, I watched to find that the solution was slowly draining out of the nozzles for the main hands free part of the unit. Calling Bissell, I was informed that I would have to send the unit in, and pay to have it looked at even though the warranty information claims it still should have been under warranty. Target, the store I bought it from, refused my return saying the problem was from "user error." I suppose normal usage of an item is an error on my and my girlfriend's part...
Needless to say, I was suggest looking over this product as I am now forced to do in my search for something that will last more than three months.
