Customer Review: Sanity saver!!
Summary: 5 Stars

This is the best investment I have ever made in terms of home maintenance! I have two Mini Australian Shepherds with sensitive stomachs and they're constantly getting into things such as bugs, creatures, plants, etc. that make them sick. After using Resolve, OxyClean and spending hours scrubbing and trying to get stains out, I finally broke down and bought the Spot Bot with very low expectations. I love my Spot Bot! It took out EVERY stain in my carpet, including ones that had been sitting for 6 months where you could still see the stain, plus the white ring around it where I had tried to clean it.

A friend of mine recently had an issue with her dog piddling on her roommate's white sofa and after calling several professional cleaners that told her they didn't work on urine, became concerned she'd have to buy a replacement sofa. She tried baking soda, vinegar and OxyClean to get the stain out with no luck. I told her to try my Spot Bot and with one tank of cleaner (Pet Stain and OxyGen2), GONE! Neither of us could believe it, but now is going to get her own.

The only things that would be great in terms of perfecting the design are that when you're in manual mode using the hose and unhook the parts to wrap the hose back around the Bot, it leaks fluid every time. Also, the beep can get annoying if you are unable to get right back to it, but are within earshot. However, these small annoyances wouldn't prevent me from recommending this product to absolutely everyone! It is truly amazing!!

Customer Review: It's awesome!

This is a really good machine among cleaners of this size level. For one thing, this and I saved my mother from having to have someone re-upholster some of her living room furniture--needless to say, she was amazed and noted the glow around my face! LOL! Using this for cleaning those items really well (especially the arms) "paid" for this item many times over. Naturally, it's ideal also for cleaning car upholstery and for spot jobs.

Also, I have an old upright deep cleaner from another maker. Both of these machine types are good investments for apartment dwellers--upon leaving, one is far more likely to get the bulk of their deposit back as well as to keep their carpet and upholstery clean of stains. My single friends, once introduced to such machines, heartily agree with me. Also, I favor deep clean devices for getting one's house ready for move-out condition--of course, it's easier--given bare rooms.

Such deep clean machines generally are heavy duty and seem to last "forever." They appear, also, to share the same proven internal mechanical principles. In the almost unthinkable event of failure out of warranty, vacuum cleaner repair places likely will easily fix anything that's broken for any type, make, or, model of deep clean machines....

Q: Do cleaning services using sophisticated machines really care as much as you do about how clean your home is? Will they go over spots again and and again or even "sit" a machine on a spot to get it clean, as this machine can?

Customer Review: don't waste the money

We bought this hoping to make quick clean ups of pet messes; ie: urine accidents. Anyway, we purchased originally at bbb but I do frequent amazon weekly and read reviews for all my purchases. This unit, while being small and compact does little more than vacuum out the stain. It wastes so much cleaner and is really not much of a timesaver.
We, my wife and I, have 2 beagles and no kids, own about 7 different vacuums including a carpet steam cleaner and tile cleaner vacuum, just for an overview. we vacuum the house every couple of days and I steam about 1x a week or so. We like to keep our carpets clean and the house does not smell like dog!
Anyway, I wanted something I could pull out of the closet for "oops" moments w/o firing up the steam cleaner and figured we would try this out. I am very disappointed, It seems to go through about 8 ozs of cleaner each "spot" and still needs to be fluffed and recleaned w/i days with the bigger unit in order to keep the carpet fibers uniform; not coloring but the pile flow.
After a couple uses I quickly realized the 10 minute clean time 4for prep/breakdown + 6 for actual cleaning is about as fast as I can prep and clean my downstairs carpeted area with my bigger, better steam cleaner. (hoover dual-v something or other which was, consequentially about the same price if I remember correctly).
To sum it up, for the money, I would invest in some shammies and a larger unit; you get a better more consistent clean and no real time loss.

Customer Review: Gets the stain out, then what?
Summary: 2 Stars

I foster dogs for a local rescue shelter and have between 3 and 6 dogs in my home at any given time, some house trained, some "working on it". I thought this would be an ideal solution to the accident problem. I filled and started the machine and walked away, like stated in the sales pitch. Came back and the stain was gone. So far so good. Then when I went to clean and put the machine away, the problems started. Hair was wound around all the brushes and there is no way to remove the brush to clean it. This means tipping the whole machine upside down to get to the brushes. The manual brush collects dirt and other things in the crack above the bristles and the clear cover is not removable. The hose cannot be removed from the unit, again requiring the whole machine to be lifted in order to drain properly and dry out. It is nearly impossible to clean all the sediment and other things from the dirty collection tank, even with repeated filling and rinsing. So in effect, you are moving the pet stain material from the carpet to the cleaning machine. Also, I hadn't used the machine for awhile, and when I started it up to make sure it was clean to try and sell it or give it to a friend with lighter cleaning duties, it had a terrible odor. It is now washed, disinfected, dried, and ready for a new home, if possible. I bought a small $19 wet-dry shop vac (suggested by another foster mom) and it works great, and is easy to clean. But you have to rub and suck up the stain yourself. Awww.

Customer Review: Good but needs a little help
Summary: 4 Stars

I have had the Pet SpotBot for a couple of months. I can't speak to the durability, as it's fairly new, but here are a few things I've noticed that
address the concerns of some of the people who only gave it one star. I have animals, as well as foster pets that I take in for the local
animal shelter. So pet stains and tracked in mud are major problems for me. When I've used the SpotBot, I've noticed that it leaves the carpet pretty wet when it's finished. I found if I just do nothing, a water spot forms where the stain was. It removed the stain nicely, but you have to deal with the fact that the carpet is pretty well soaked. So I found if I wet a towel with hot water and scrub the cleaned area, that removes the cleaning residue (it does not have a clean water rinse cycle - a big mistake in my opinion) and that attracts more dirt (according to my carpet cleaning guy). But after that, I have to soak up as much of the water as I can so the water stain doesn't set in. So, after all that, it's almost as though you could clean the spot without the machine. I find that I can't scrub hard enough or long enough to get the stain out, so the machine is still worth using for me. It does a good job on the stains. You just have to be willing to put in a little extra time to take care of the issues as mentioned above. So if you're young and strong, I'd say a good brush and some patience would do you as well.
