I don't write many reviews, but I really wanted to say: I love this machine! I did a lot of research before I bought this and I was hesitant because it was so cheap... Could a $60 refurbished machine really clean very well?
The answer is YES- it does a great job! I have a puppy who is still in potty training, and it cleans up all his messes in minutes. Even puppy vomit, which stood up to spot removers and scrubbing, is quickly taken care of as long as I get to it before it sets. Old stains come out, too, but it takes a little extra effort.
Others have complained that this is small, but I think it's the perfect size. Pushing the QS around is very easy because it's so light and I can wedge it into a corner of my very tiny and crowded closet. I do have to fill it up a couple times to do my entire apartment, but that ensures that the water is always hot, so I think it's a good thing.
The tanks are easy to fill/empty and the instructions couldn't be more simple. Even though the scrubber doesn't rotate, it does scrub pretty well, and it only takes a couple passess to get stains out. The carpet is still damp after I clean, but it actually dries really fast.
The only two drawbacks- the dirty water tank is oddly shaped and it can be difficult to get out all the gunk. One of the... um... parts that water is sucked through in the front (is there a name for it??) is also very thin and hard to clean if it gets a little bit of hair in it. That doesn't seem to affect the performace (suck power) though, so it's not a biggie. You'd probably have to use a pipe cleaner on it, though.
To sum it up, I used to pay $40 to rent a RugDoctor every couple months. This machine may not clean exactly like those, but it does a more than acceptable job for less money and with far less effort. If you have an apartment and a pet, it's invaluable. I love it!
