I don't understand all the negative reviews on Amazon for this product. I have used the Woolite Rug Stick for the last couple of years and have been very satisfied with it.I recently got a new rug stick as I lost the original one while moving to a new apartment. The Rug Stick does two amazing things
1) It is great at picking up pet hairs(or any hairs for that matter) from the carpet
2) It loosens the other debris that are buried or stuck deep in the carpet so that if you vacuum the carpet immediately after cleaning it with the Woolite Rug Stick, you will pick up debris and junk that you would not have otherwise picked up.
If you have old/stubborn stains on the carpet , don't expect them to magically disappear from your rug/carpet after one cleaning with this product but I am not sure if that is a realistic expectation anyway. I have seen the Rug Stick do a decent job with fresh easy to remove stains and have even seen it reduce the hard and stubborn stains . You would probably need multiple cleanings to get rid of stubborn stains.
Overall, It is a great value for money and does a great job at cleaning the carpets and rugs.

My husband purchased this last night for me. He thought that it would be a handy tool to have as I am a 7 months pregnant stay at home mom of 3. I cannot bend or be on my hands and knees well. Also, my other children (4year old twins, and a 9 year old) seem to bring any mess possible into the house.
Anyway, I was very excited to receive this, I took it immediately to the twins room to remove some ground in dirt from earlier in the day (yes it was vacuumed prior). I was very disappointed. The foam seemed to just spread around the dirt. I was better off getting my steam cleaner out. I have tried it a second time near the doorway from my living room to kitchen. It is a high traffic area that was steam cleaned last month, so it is not disgusting yet. It did seem to revive the carpet as well as clean it up a bit.
All in all - If you have a carpet in the condition as the woman's in the commercial - hire a pro or rent a steamer. But for typical wear and tear and minimal dirt, the rug stick will work for you just fine.

My carpet is exactly the same color as the one in the commercial--and in roughly the same condition. I certainly wasn't expecting a miracle; I did expect the area to be at least somewhat cleaner. The rug stick did almost nothing...it seems to just spread things around. I have a fairly powerful vacuum and after following the directions exactly, I found that the only thing I had accomplished was getting the carpet wet.
The rug stick itself it ok--I use mine with a spray bottle of different carpet cleaner. It is somewhat easier on your back than being down on your hands and knees. The cleaning solution that comes with it is fairly useless though (in my opinion). It barely lifts magic marker, much less pet or high traffic stains. I don't believe that they advertise this product truthfully. It seems that they use two different colors of carpet (a beige, dirty carpet and a clean white carpet). This product simply does not have anywhere near the capabilities they proclaim.
Customer Review: Great for Travel Trailer or RV

I was very happy with this product. We have a travel trailer and the rugs needed to be freshened up. We don't wear shoes into the trailer, so the carpet isn't stained, but still needed to be cleaned. The advice from the RV people is that you should not saturate your carpets, so I didn't want to use my carpet cleaner as I was concerned about too much water. So, I bought the Rug Stick and an extra bottle of the cleaner. The one that comes with the stick will only clean a small area. I was very pleased with this product. The stick is small enough to reach all the nooks and cranies of the trailer. It spruced up all the carpet fiber and left a wonderful clean fresh smell. I scrubbed the carpet in several directions to really get the foam worked in and it worked great. The carpet is no longer tramped down looking. I highly recommend to anyone who has a recreational vehicle. Really worked great.Customer Review: Not as great as advertised, but what is?

I have all wood floors in my house, so I purchased this for my area rugs. I did not expect it to work the way the show it works on TV. Advertising happens for a reason. Anyway, what I LOVE about this is that while scrubbing with it, I get all the hair up that my vacuum leaves behind. I have two Golden Retrievers and they shed a LOT. While my vacuum does get a lot of the hair, there is always some left behind. After using the rug stick, the hair is completely gone. Now, as for the cleaner, I don't even use the spray action on the handle. It has a tendency to clog and clump in the head of the stick. I spray cleaner in a line on my rug, then use the scrubber, much easier and less frustrating. Also, if you are purchasing this, also purchase the refill of the cleaner, the cleaner bottle the include Barely cleaned both of my rugs once. Overall, I like the rug stick, it does what I purchased it to do.
