This is a great tool to have in the kitchen. I use it to jot down any items I need while I'm out. I have it mounted vertically on the wall. The pencil holder isn't as practical in vertical orientation but it is still functional. The entire device is elegantly simple and made of stainless steel so it should last longer than me. I was hoping I would be able to write on it with one hand, but the paper slides back and forth about 3mm so two hands are usually necessary. I would take away one rating star for this, but it is the best of its kind out there, so it can keep all five stars. My current average paper use is 4" per week. I'm guessing the starter roll that comes with this unit is 150' (it could be 200') so I'll have to start looking for a replacement roll in about 8 years (11 years if it is a 200' roll). The question is, will future me have trouble finding calculator paper? I doubt it. Then again, future me will probably have a refrigerator that orders the groceries and has them delivered.
