Honestly, I had low expectations buying this generator after reading other reviews... But since most claimed the thing ran perfectly after fixing minor details like mising bolts, or bent frames I figured being rather handy I'd give it a whirl.
My came perfectly unscathed. Not a scratch even on the box. I do use amazon prime, so it was shipped in two days via FedEx (for free), I have no idea if this made a difference.
I filled it with oil, put in some gas, it fired on the first try. You did have to play with the choke a bit until it got warm, but it's no worse than an old school motorcycle.
It seemed to produce more than enough juice. It got my monster table saw, a shop vac, planer, joiner, band saw to run perfectly. I will note though that the draw on the table saw is usually great enough to dim the lights on a 15 amp circuit. It did seem to nearly choke the generator on startup. I'd originally put it on the driveway and it rattled so bad it started 'walking' down the drive. I just picked it up and put it in the yard and that seemed to settle it's hash.
For the research I've done I'm very confident it'll be able to run both our fridges, and a microwave when the next hurricane blows through.

My Blue Max generator arrived today.No problems with the delivery ! The FedX driver put it right by the front door. I ordered it June 9,2008 it shipped June 10,2008 I received it June 12,2008.No sales tax,no delivery charge, excellent price,can't beat that !!! I read both instruction manuals,seems like pretty basic stuff for a small gas engine.The picture of the engine in the manual doesn't look like the one I received,but I'm sure I'll figure out how to operate it.The maufacturer must have up-graded the inside packaging because mine had heavy particle board on all four sides of the generator ! Nothing seems broken or busted from shipping ! Mine shipped from Kentucky and I live in Illinois,not far !
Will try to update my review after I get it running and put a load on it. One thing I'm sure of is I'm glad I read all of the reviews helped a lot ! Found the manuals right under the gas tank ! Will be careful with the plastic oil cap ! Got my flexible funnel ready ! Will tip generator to add oil etc... I think I'm going to mount some sort of wood base to it so I can move it with my two wheeler like someone said. Save the expense and grief of the wheel kit. Thanks to all the reviewers who took time to do that.It helped a lot.

This product definately has impressed me, and moreso Amazon. I ordered with free shipping (big plus for this heavy item) and received an email that it may not ship for about a week. Thats fine, who wants to pay for this thing to ship anyhow. The next day it shipped, and I received it 4 days before they thought it was going to even ship. Outstanding service. Box in great condition, generator in even better. Felt bad for the Fedex man because it was 90+ degrees here and he carried it diligently. Sorry!
As for the generator, EXCELLENT for the price. It does not come with oil so recommend picking up 10W-30 if you don't already have it. The crankcase takes less than 1/2 a quart. Fired up on the first pull. Directions are a bit choppy (due to translation problems?) but it is not an issue at all. Comes with 2 manuals because it is a multipurpose engine, starting using the generator manual is much easier to understand.
The only problem I had was that the fuel strainer leaked, but this was an easy fix...10mm socket did the job in about 2 seconds. Must have come loose during shipping.
Overall, under load performed as advertised. Great product, highly recommended for us budget concious people!

I've had bad experience purchasing heavy equipment from the internet...this generator is about 100 pounds and I feared that it would come banged up as my other packages did. However, I read many of the other reviews and tried my luck. I got it 2-day shipped (30 day free trial from amazon) and it made it okay. I will say that there is absolutely not packing material in the box. I assume they figure the roll cage is its own packing. Mine had some scuffs on the roll cage but the generator was in fine shape.
I purchased generator in case of power outages but didn't want to spend too much...I figure it doesn't make sense to pay for more than the food in your refrigerator. This is the only one that fit the bill. It is listed as a 2800 watt continuous power generator which is enough to power a couple refrigerators and a few lights and TV. It quiet compared to other generators and small enough to tuck away in a garage or shed...I'd say it's 2x2x3.
The directions are poor (you get one manual for the engine and one for the generator), but you don't really need to know too much...saw some complaints about the oil...the engine many says it holds .6 quarts...enough said.

IOWA 2010 Well after reading 15 to 20 reviews and only seeing 2 that were bad well I bought one off eBay from homier.com and it came Undamaged. Put the oil in while ! It was flat on the floor in my garage. Remember to poor a little in at a time and keep checking until its hafe way on the dip stick. When filling up with gas fill it to the bottom of the filler cap do not fill past it because the gas will heat up from the motor and over flow even though the cap is tight. Started it up and ran fine for 5 min. Next day I hooked it up to my garage 220 and shut the power off my house first!!!! And it power my gas furnaces,TV,light,and refrigerator. No problem. Yes I backfeed to my house and as long as the home power is shut off on the fuse box to where no out side power comes in your fine. I was one of the lucky ones to get one with no problems. remember to check it out before you run them. To run a house just running the gas furnace and TV and 3 light frig you need at least 2000 to 3000 wattage generator. do a lot of Research first befor buying ask your hardware person about what you need. use at lest a 10 Gauge wire drop cord.
