Customer Review: Haven't run it yet because of broken motor mounts.

I ordered the generator, it arrived in a timely fashion. Package looked good, Fedex guy unpacked it with me and it looked great. It was not until I went to install the wheel kit that my wife noticed a broken motor mount. Amazon quickly sent me a different one and yesterday the replacement arrived. I looked it over real closely and this one also had a broken motor mount. They are made of aluminum and the generators are probably being set down too hard, The thin aluminum can't handle the shock, which is odd since the generator should vibrate from running. Anyway, Amazon has said they would have it picked up and issue a refund since it is a reoccuring thing. I just want them to send me a non-defective generator, so I can have backup power this summer if needed.Customer Review: Nice Deal

I plan on using this unit at the race track, to run a fan, a small air compressor and other tools as needed. Note, it does not show up with any oil, so you need to get a quart of 10W-30W. I had this running in no time. I ran it for about an hour to just test it out with my equipment and break in the new motor. I wish they would spend a little more on packing. My unit got a bang on the front, enough to break the lower support weld on the face plate and the plastic housing behind the electrical outlets. The FedEx guy suggested the company should pack these units on a pallet and after seeing the box it came in, I would agree. The damage was easy enough to fix and all works fine. I bought this generator about two months ago. My son and I installed the wheel kit, figured out the instructions and started it up. So far so good. Yesterday, Ike hit the Houston area. We were without power for 36 hours. I ran 2 refrigerators and a freezer and threw an extension cord over the fence for my neighbor who also ran two refrigerators and a freezer off the unit. It performed flawlessly. I wouldn't trade this generator for anything. It is not extremely quiet but more quiet than other units I heard in the neighborhood. The instructions are not the clearest I have seen and we had a little problem with the wheel kit, but on the whole a solid unit. Buy the wheel kit because the unit is heavy. Got the generator about a week after the order. I got free shipping and FedEx delivered the unit to my house and left it in front of the garage door - just a bit to heavy for the front porch I guess.
The box arrived in good shape with just a bit of a tear here and there. I opened the box and found no damage to the generator at all, it looked fine. I had to dig around to find the manual, it was tucked in under the gas tank, but it was there along with the accessories. I added some oil, added gas, set the choke, turned the switch to ON and pulled only once to get the unit started. I tried it under various loads with success.
I'm happy, great unit for the price and free shipping was a big bonus.

This generator is cheap but delivers what you expect from it. The hole for the oil is not easily accessible but once you filled it you should be good to go for some time. The gas tank can be refilled very easily.
It comes with a detailed documentation about the engine if you want to do any maintenance on the engine. Once you have figured out that the label for 'choke' is wrong (open and close are actually reversed), it just starts like a charm!
It is also pretty quiet. The wheel kit is highly recommended if you need to move this baby around because it is >100lbs empty (no oil, no gas). Even though the wheel kit is not really great, it will get you move this thing around.
