I bought this after looking around the area and even with shipping this was the best deal, but you get what you pay for. I wanted it as a back up to keep the fridge running in the event of a power outage and it will do that for sure. Put oil in and a little gas and after two pulls it started. It runs great, but it isn't quiet, more like a lawnmower. I would give this unit 4 out of 5 stars. I also got the wheel attachment, and I would give it 2 out of 5 starts. It is a generic wheel set not really made specifically for the Blue Max 4000. I had to MacGyver it and make a trip to the hardware store. The handle is a little light-weight for how heavy the generator is, but it works.Customer Review: Best Value

Let's be realistic, I bought this generator because of it's price and good performance review. It does better then what I expected, too good to be true. Yes, it is not perfect in some areas like documents, but you are the one who is paying for the all the cost. It will cost you more for having a nice book. In fact, I prefer to have a cheap document if I can pay less.
The engine is the best engine I have so far, non of my other engine equipped tools can be started in 3 pulls from cold start (31 degree F).
So far I only used it once, for testing purpose only. I had a 1600W heater connected to it, and it worked very nicely.

This generator ran great for about 20 hours... now the engine starts up and runs, but the generator will produce no power.
I've wasted hours of my life on the phone with absolutely no luck trying to find details on the supposed "warranty" for this product. Amazon is unable to provide any information, the warranty numbers provided with the product are no longer in service, and any associated company I've found online all say they're not responsible for warranty repairs on this product.
Do yourself a favor and spend a few extra bucks for a product from a reputable company or buy it from another vendor who will honor their warranty claims.

Great generator! Started on the first pull after adding oil and gas. Ran my RV air conditioner and kept the battery charged for a long weekend of camping. On a full tank of gas and topped up oil, it ran about 12 hours straight. Changing the oil was a breeze after the weekend use, but be sure to get a flexible funnel for adding oil, as the fill hole is in a slightly tricky location. Using an adapter, my 30 Amp RV plug stayed cool. The large muffler made this one of the quieter generators in the park, and for the price, I can't beat it. Fedex delivered and set it carefully on the ground, then my son dragged it into the garage, so the packaging was sufficient.Customer Review: Inspect it prior to removing it from the box .

Mine was damaged also Fedx (so open the ends with a razor knife and look inside simplify repacking it if you have to return it) Mine had a broken engine shock mount . One end of the unit structure is heavy duty the other end is long and thin shock mount arms which need some form of shipping brace that you remove prior to use. I have a amazon prime account found the problem in 15 min. called amazon and they shipped a replacement over night. Might want to check the control panel real well it can be hit pretty hard in shippment. I very impressed with with. It actually started on the first pull. Quiet and smooth running. I say its a steal for the price.
